I'm soooooooooooooooooooooo PISSED OFF!!!:pissed:

I've been a member here for quite a long time now, I've seen members creating birthday threads a day or two early, and their thread being sticky, until their birthday, just now I found out Roadrunner's who is a freaking moderator here in Alldeaf birthday thread is being unsticky??? WTF!! His birthday happen to be TODAY, I've start to notice this has been happened a few days ago when Liebling's and the other had a birthday at the same day, and a few members had create their thread a couple days before their birthday, yet their threads were being sticky for just ONE day and their birthday hasn't arrive yet, and someone unsticky it I can not believe this, what the big deal of having a thread being sticky for just a couple of days???? Members can easy create a birthday thread when they don't see it being sticky and thinking there wasn't a thread create for someone yet, so they create another one for them, causing multiple threads made, that why it should be sticky for at least a couple of days??? what wrong with that?? why has this suddenly change????

I'm sorry for having to vent out like this, but enough is enough!!!

Angel, its very good venting. I know the feeling. I noticed RR's birthday thread were unstick. I was like uh umm where did it go??? I hope the Mods and Admin will read and respect that.

I am so sorry to hear that Angel. I didnt noticed anything til now. I hope thing get straighten out.

UHHHH...maybe cuz I am still new to AD..who is responsible for making a thread sticky? Other AD members or the mods? Maybe it was overlooked?

Sometime they have no respects and sometime they do respects...

See, NO one congratulate me when I reached my 1,000 milestones... *sigh* They don't respect me..

Sorry for being off topic.. *walking away*

Nice vent, Angel. Feeling better now? Good. :thumb:

I was the one who put a sticky to RR's birthday thread, then earlier today unstuck it because I thought his birthday was yesterday and not today. It was an honest mistake, I apologized, and stuck the birthday thread again, didn't I?

One of the reasons why I said I'm considering making it a "rule" that if members post birthday threads before the actualy birth date, it will not be stuck. Sometimes there are so many sticky threads at the same time and it really takes up a lot of space in a forum. I also noticed that mods who sticky threads tend to forget to unsticky them later, and just leave them there until I find out.

I'm usually fair when it comes to how long a thread should stay sticky. If it's a birthday thread, I usually leave them stuck for 24 hours. Sticky thread that deserves more time are the ones whose family members / friends have passed away, health concerns, special events, etc.

'Nuff said.

I'm so sorry that happened to you and it made you really pissed... and I just realized it... that is so true..... The Mods should staying sticky for a couple days....

Again I understand your feeling.

I am really confused..I didnt know that it was a big deal for threads to be sticky or to get congrats for number of postings. I didnt get congrats for my 2,000 postings but I really do not care. Birthdays are different but what is the importance of a sticky thread? I am not trying to offend anyone but I am trying to see what the big deal is cuz Sweetheart vented in another thread about the same issue. :dunno:

sheesh sighs i feel for ya angel

i guess no one notice me anymore sorry for offtopic walk away with my head down sighs

Alright Alex, then explain me why does the multiple threads that are about congratulating member's posts count more important than member's birthday threads?? yet having those multiple threads of posts count being sticky for a couple of days and birthdays threads only sticky for 24 hours??

Correct me if I'm wrong here, I thought this forum was DIFFERENT than any other forums out there where it shows an OWNER cares about it's members?? Since I've been here, I have never seen any problems in the past and suddenly out of the blue, birthdays threads are now to be sticky one day. How is THAT taking up space in your forum?? I don't get it, forum is for all of us, it is because of us coming together and posting here that had help you become a popular owner.....because you show you care, what happen?

Birthdays are different but what is the importance of a sticky thread?

It has been like that since I've been a member here, then suddenly it has to change, and sadly I'm not happy with it....

Oh ok. Still learning about AD. Thanks for answering. :)

It was recently that I've decided to do something about multiple sticky threads, and determine which type of sticky thread deserves to be stuck for a longer period of time.

Yikes ! What's soo important about havin' " Sticky " ? It's nothin', because it's all for a temporary. It's not necessary to be pissed over at least some ADers can notice your thread for Roadrunner's birthday.

well, I think you would understand better if it was for your own lover and if you had created a thread that means something to you and it got unsticky very quickly, you'd be upset.

her point is, all this time people had created threads to say Happy Birthday (you've done it before too) and it stayed sticky for the time being. So Angel creates one for RR and it gets unsticky on the day of his birthday.. which I understand Alex may not have known today was his actual birthday. However, other people's birthdays stay sticky for 3 or 4 days then gets unsticky.. People are more satisfied with that. sometimes the birthday person doesn't always check in Alldeaf for a day or 2. so once it gets unsticky, it'll fade away and won't even notice the person had been greeted unless someone informs him/her.

I can see where she's coming from. when did AD open? 2002 2003?? for the last 4 years, birthday and congratulation greetings had been sticky since then and now there's a rule? I honestly think birthdays and congratulations are good to be sticky because it makes one another to feel good about themselves.

psst... alex... hon.. don't you think you owe beep beep an apology? ;)

Maybe if you had notify the members what your plans were going to be in ahead of time before confusing anyone. It probably would have helped. Just a suggestion

OR maybe he can take my thread into consideration Celebrations that he has not answered yet..:squint:

It would be a good idea to have all things like that in a separate area. Posts congrats, birthdays, anniversaries, etc...

Alex,
When did you all sudden decide to make that decision? today? What ever happened to commuication along with members here about this? I think it was rude on your part even made that unsticky, while others had their thread sticky for a week or so..
