There are also other options for low income people and kids...
Some dental offices will actually pull your tooth for less...my first wisdom tooth that I needed pulled, I was in between insurances as I had taken on a new job and was waiting for their insurance to kick in but needed my wisdom taken out NOW as I was in so much pain...they pulled it out for only $40. Not bad!
Also....dental schools on some university campuses have student dentists that will treat your teeth for much less since they are students...it is better than nothing...
So...yeah.
But the bottom line is..if you can't afford to take your kid to dentist but make too much money for Medicaid...well...sometimes, Medicaid will not cover YOU but will usually cover YOUR kid because kids are more important...at least that's what I understand.
In some states Medicaid will NOT cover dental care for adults, but WILL cover children up to the age of 21 for dental care. Texas is one of those states.
So's FL. There's a program within Medicaid called... Medi-Kids. They offer a wide range of services for children that aren't offered for adults.
