Deaf girl hit while walking across street

A deaf student was hit by a car in front of Barbara Jordan Technical School on Friday morning.

Houston police said the 16-year-old girl was walking across Kelley Road around 8 a.m. She was allegedly jaywalking.

Officers said the driver wasn't speeding or breaking any laws, so he was not ticketed.

The girl was taken to the hospital to be checked out, but police said there were no visible injuries.
 
always watch the road.. left to right then go process fast as you can.. but have to be careful with distance .. cuz sometimes u cant tell if they are driving fast.. so look carefully.. sigh.. thats too bad for the girl.. hope shes ok..
 
I hope she doesn't go around using her deafness as an excuse. There's a reason for these jaywalking laws. :)
 
Oh boy that remind me!!!! when I was 7 yrs old that I did across the road but first thing I did watch out on the road before I go across the road then I go across the road and BAM!! hit me by the car and got broken my right leg dang! that was so PAINFUL!!!!!!!!!!! and I cried ALOTS!!! and even got sitches on my head cause got accident the car, :( cause my cousin Shawn tease me so I told him go away dont go near me from green swamp wet on me so I go across the road. After I got hit the car then dont remember but only I remember I was standing on the road to watch out the road that is all I remember :) .. I dont remember how the car did hit me. :) it still dont remember how did the car have been hit me on left side but how I got broken leg on my right leg??? how!??!?!? oh well unless I am alive!!!!! :)

I did all what you just said and still got hit by a car TWICE!!!! I am still in pain from the last accident where the car hit me and I flew really high into the air and landed on the car hard only to roll off onto the pavement. :( It sure sucked.

Means she was walking across the street illegally - she should have used the crosswalk.

yeah that is true :).. For me when I was 7 yrs old I didnt go on crosswalk blah for me lol :D
