I wouldn't say he was communist. I would say he was a socialist. There are such things as Christian communists and Christian socialists.

Keep in mind, Communism is not inherently Godless -- it's simply that the states of USSR and China did supress religion, when in fact state non-ENDORSEMENT of religion should have happened.

It's not true. You don't know their point of views. Their point of views may be different than yours. Jesus was NEVER a communist or dictator. Nada.
The reason Jesus told the rich man to give up his wealth and gave away to the poor, because Jesus Himself is Love, so therefore that rich man has to learn to give away to the poor by showin' his true love for Jesus Christ.
That " wealth " thing don't stay forever. It will fade away once that rich man dies. Soo... what good is that goin' to be ? Hmm ?

I think what most people fail to realize is that Jesus was politically agnostic. He is above our pretty concepts. When Jesus said "give up your wealth," he meant for those who are wealthy and blessed to be generous; to be cheerful givers. He never intended for his words to be twisted in order to garner support for a fallable economic system. Don't tell me Jesus was a communist, a capitalist, a Democrat, or a Republican. He is none of these. If you were to draw a line in the sand to display the range of human belief systems, I guess you could say from Conversative to Liberal, where would Jesus' teachings lie on this line? They wouldn't. They would lie above the line.
Please read the Scripture CAREFULLY. If Jesus Christ was communist, therefore Israel would be communist now. Reason Jesus commanded a rich man to give up $ to poor needy is that Jesus called him to REPENT and get saved.

He meant to give up wealth, to make the wealth people to give like charity not greed..
why must we be wealth - rich.. it's like ego.. me >i< .. myself.. if you made alot money, spend wisely and give some money to church or charity..
be just like humble with love, caring, sharing.. if i won lottery, I will give $ to my church school and food shelves.. some orangizations who work hard to bring the communities together..

Wealth is root of all evil. Wealth buy power everywhere and alot people died from it. Jesus knew it. Communist is not about money, it is about a man control people's life. Jesus did not control this man, this man made a freedom of choice LOVE or wealth, he freely choose wealth over LOVE. Jesus did not punish him, he did it to himself.

I DONT WANT TO BE DEAF!! Not if I choose to.I can Negotiate it.Heaven doesnt have money or challenges.I wanna have a family and run one.I wanna have a 40hr week job and come home to my family.And Take vacations like a family.Kinda like a Family guy and a father figure.I wanna watch my children grow up attend college and watch them get married and then retire around age 55.Cant have that in heaven though.

Ok, I will read if, it is true that Jesus actually SAID, " Give up your wealth ". Let me
the scriptures what Jesus EXACTLY said. Mark 10:17-22
" And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one runnin', and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life ?
And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good ? there is [/I]none good but one, that is, God.
Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.
And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.
Then Jesus beholdin' him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shall have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross and follow me.

Hi, I'm an Ayn Rand conservative. With that saying, politically-speaking, I've always believed Jesus was in a socialist-leaning view more than anything else. But was Jesus a communist? I highly doubt so. Dennis is correct in technical-politically term of Jesus' political stance. And plus to that, reading the Bible literally is a certainty of implosion.

Devil's advocate: As whoever studied or graduated with degrees in Economics are aware that pro-profit capitalists are fully devoted (or 'make love') to greed and profit. Otherwise, the fat cats wouldn't immerse themselves in making profits excessively than usual instead of distributing their wealth over to help hard workers, hungers, cripples, et alia?
Ergo, whoever worships profit over destroying the environment, annually expanding the numbers of population who are unable to access qualified health care, out-of-control pollution and remains conclusively all for "love of money".
Ask any pro-profit capitalists this question: "Do you love money?" and they'd unanimously answer "yes, otherwise I wouldn't be in business pursuing profit". I did and I had many times. It's presumably, inconceivably unheard of for them to say "no, I don't love money". Else, they're not pro-profit captialists.
