Just curious, do you support ASL or sign languages to deaf children if they can't use or struggling with oral language?

I do I just feel that some CI parents as well as adults are unfairly scrutinized/criticized for their decisions regarding their own or their children's auditory rehab with using a CI. Decisions they have every right to make

But sometimes that ends pretty sadly when a person ends up with no language. Monitoring progress should be a requirement.

There are some pro-CI/oralist criticized parents for teaching ASL only to their deaf children.

Both sides are no innocent.
 
True, but information about CIs is just that it can be absorbed as information or left where it lays. Stories about CI recipient or CI tech news are just stories.

Yes, that already happen to some people so they got ended up in mental hospital or group home by court order.
 
Its information just information god us CI users and eventual CI users can't have information on devices some members here already use. sheesh!!!!

And I asked your thoughts on a point brought up... something you have been unable to do... instead more from your collection... so... what about the harm it causes? Mentally, physically, and developmentally...

I think you would have a problem with CIs no matter if they are used in concert with ASL. I think you would have problem period.

It is not about you or me... I am asking your thoughts about the verified harm it causes others... and to be more specific... prelingual deaf child/ern...
 
You speak of such harm but it would kill you to recognize so much as one child helped by a CI. They don't exist and are all publicity stunts. Where did the get these kids out thin air? What about those who want CIs or already have them can they have this information?

If these multitudes you speak of are so harmed you want tell why the FDA & and just about every regulatory body in the civilized world approved CIs for children? There are still the CI users here and those that are interested in CIs here who may be able to make use of this information.
