What are you doing right now? Part II

I've been crocheting 8-9 yrs. now. It's not hard at all except maybe the first couple weeks as you get used to how to hold the hook and tension the yarn.
I like the one in your avatar , I only knitted the blanket for my baby and I had a friend show me how to knit . I don't know many people that crochet or knit today.

No I haven't posted any pics of the blanket. It's not finished yet and I don't know how to post a photo in here yet. I see the camera icon above, is it a direct upload? Or do I have to put it on Flickr or something?

Thanks :) I belong to a forum called Ravelry for knitters, crocheters, weavers and spinners. There are over 5 million members there.

There are quite a few in my area that knit and/or crochet. I'm a crocheter myself, when I get around to it. I tried knitting many years ago and kept ADDING, not dropping, stitches and gave it up.

Here's a couple of article about yarn bombings that have taken place near me this spring. One of the ladies is a friend from high school. She helps a group, Project Linus, with hats and blankets for newborns

It took me about 3 yrs. of working at it off and on to get really comfortable with knitting. Quite a bit harder for me to learn than crocheting. I and a lady from my knitting group make hats for newborns for a local hospital. She makes mostly girly ones and I make mostly manly ones.

I know how to knit and crochet but I prefer crochet. My grandmother taught me.

When I was a kid, I crocheted accessories for my Barbies/ When I was a teenager, I crocheted place mats for my mom, ponchos for my mom and me, an afghan for my dad, a few vests for me, a necktie for a friend, and a case for my slide rule. I made several things from granny squares. When my daughter was born I crocheted a sweater and booties for her. Lately, the only things I've crocheted are fingerless gloves in a multitude of colors. I wear them when I'm on the computer at home, or when I go out in cool weather.

You can upload directly from your computer or you can put picture on Flickr or Photobucket or anything similar then link to that. Both are pretty easy to do.

My mom crochets (um I think.. I wouldn't know lol). She has done many afghans- most as wedding gifts to various family members and 1 to one of my closest friends (I paid mom for it). She also made a very big blanket more than 40 years ago. Still uses it. Made another one I think about 10 years ago because I kept trying to stretch the smaller afghan when laying on the couch lol. Will see if I can snag pics. The older one is in excellent shape for the age it is. It's mom's 'nap'/cold weather blanket lol.

I finished the blanket and gave it to them this morning. But do you know I forgot to take a pic of it first! :(

Maybe they will send you a "Thank you" that includes a pic and you can post the pic from that!

My grandma tried to teacher my older sister and ex brother how to play poker . LOL! It was dad's mom .

Getting ready to go out for lunch and do some shopping. Smells like they're putting tar, or tar like substance, on the outside wall outside my apt (the part that is normally under ground - they dug trenches around 3 sides of each building recently). Poor kitty will have to deal with it alone (and the fact that the guys are out there).

Not is

It is not unusual for foundation waterproofing substances to smell that way. In spite of how it smells when put on I don't remember the smell ever lasting very long.

Playing hot potato on the phone.... sadly I do believe I am the potato.... between VA, Veterans Choice, and physical therapy. .... why can they just call each other? Veterans choice is a good thing, but a complete pain to use ....

Trying to figure out who left a bouquet of flowers at our garage door. (We found them when we got back from my workout.) There's no note, and I can't even imagine what the occasion would be. Were they left at the wrong house?

Yes, Veterans Choice provides more options but they don't have their act together yet. We've dealt with them a few times. I'm glad that the civilian clinic they sent me to was used to their scheduling problems and was able to smooth things out.

The Veterans Choice schedulers live in other states, so they don't understand local scheduling issues. They are kind of huffy about making sure we understand that they are a separate entity.

Hi Tia, thanks/:ty: for your reply. We have a large craft show around here annually which includes fabric arts. Do you like to go to craft shows?

The only huffiness I keep running into is that the physical therapist and veterans choice want things their own way and refuse to communicate with each other... so now veterans choice has decided they wand to reach around their elbows to get things done, when all that has to happen is for one or he other to just call... the VA has done it's bit and rather seamlessly. .. but if I want to see a physical therapist before Oct I ha email to go outside...thus veterans choice.... being the new kids they want to be a butt about it and physical therapy is not being given much better as an old fuddy duddy
