I learned that we get Christmas bonuses at my new job. WHOAAAAAAAA!

We got a bonus when I was a heath aide and I had to pay more income taxes .

I'm glad that they stopped them in time.

I have not hear anything on the news yet. I would like to know more details about it. My sister only grandchild go to the school so this is very scary to my family and of course it's scary to all parents that have kids in any school .

I'm already at my final stop. Now just need to wait.

That my batteries burn up when I take a train. All of my devices needed to be charged, and I'm not sure that's allowed. I'll do what I can, however.

Update: I cannot charge them on the 1st floor, but in the Metra waiting room, yes.

some of our trains charger battery my local train dont

A few years ago, Metra didn't EVEN have chargers on their trains, but they have installed them now. Amtrak has always had them as long as I can remember. Now more and more stations are adding charging stations here and there, but not all of them have one, however.

can you just buy train ticket on day if you wanted go across country e.g new York to California or you got book it..
I tempted come back States travel cross country but with troubles I bit scared of flying to America

I think you still can buy tickets in the station for train travel (Amtrak)- those are 'unreserved coach' tickets so can sit anywhere except business class. It's been a while since I've done that though.

Not everywhere. My line, the Illini and Saluki, you must reserve tickets in order to board a train on either one. Same for the City of New Orleans, which I very rarely take. As for the Metra, you can pay for a ticket on the train itself, OR buy one with a debit/credit card. For the CTA, that system is completely different.

I saw a guy recharging his cell at a streetlight in my city . Some streetlights have an outlet and the guy pugged his phone in , I have no idea if this is legal or not. I asked the guy and he did not nor did he care.

That Chicago has the worst freight train chokehold in the entire country. That's why the Edgebrook Flyover Bridge was built, to keep Metra trains off those tracks.

I learned several things yesterday. The first thing I learned is that there IS a DQ downtown, something I was not expecting to see  Getting to it is a bit tricky, though. The second thing I learned is that the city built a new paved bike path very recently, but it's not open yet. The third thing I learned is that it's inadvisable to ride a bike on the same street that's being street sweeped.
