Any tablets that can use mobile data and not need WiFi to travel?

I am just being curious; I already know that the iPad 4 can travel without WiFi, and can use mobile data, but are there any others that can do the same thing?

Also, it's not just tablets I'm looking for that can do this; I'm also wondering if there are laptops that can do this, as well?

I've tried to add mobile data to my tablet, but it doesn't work, so I'm stuck with using the house WiFi or my hotspot when I travel.

The reason why I ask is because I don't particularly care for bringing my hotspot with me; it's a small device, and can be easily stolen, and I'd never see it again if that were to happen, cause I don't have the info to my WiFi written down, but I could certainly print it out, though, and leave it in a secure spot if that were to happen.

Any thoughts? I'm trying to be sensible; I don't want to be paying $50/month for 28 months for an iPad 4, despite the fact that it's appealing to me to do so.

$50 a month for what?

$50 a month for what?

An iPad 4. I have a friend who had one, and he told me there's an Apple store on Clybourn that allows their customers to get an iPad 4, and use it while paying it off, and I did the math-- I can pay $50 a month for up to 28 months to pay off the $1,000+ price tag it comes with, but if I paid $20 a month for the same device, it would take me 36+ months to pay it off, and if I ever got around to getting the encourage to do it, I would get it.

The cool thing about the iPad 4 is that you can basically use it almost ANYWHERE, and that's something I wouldn't mind having, with the exception of the price tag, but I'd be willing to get it, though.

More specifically, the North Ave and Clybourn Red Line stop. That's where it's located at.

:slap:

No. What's network? What's data usage cap?

If payment for iPad as $50 for 28 months. That's $1400 for iPad 4? You can get brand new iPad Air 16GB with cellular for $629.

There are three options. Two I know of are Verizon and AT&T, and you pick one, and they put it on there for you, and off you go, as long you keep paying the price you agreed to pay, and on time, they'll let you keep it.

As for data caps, I have not a clue, but I DO know it's 128 GB, and that's quite a bit of GB, and there are many people who'd love to have that much storage, so yeah, it's an ideal option. Here's what I'm talking about:

Is it possible to use my ipad 4 in an area without wifi? - Apple Store (U.S.)

Hope that helps (Make sure you pay attention to the answer provided-- it tells you what I mean).

That was not my question and Nevermind.

Huh? You asked for network and data caps, and I interpreted it as you asking for Internet or cellular services, and whatnot. Maybe I didn't read it correctly? Do you want to clarify? Maybe I can do better? Or did I already answer your question, but just not the way you wanted? I want some feedback, please.

I have my jailbreak iPhone. I can use it to tether to wifi iPad and MacBook Pro. No charge.
3g/4g iPad mini is better and charge $15/500mb, $30/3GB and $50/5GB at AT&T.

You can use your phone's hotspot for no charge? Lucky you. I pay $10/month to activate mine, and considering, that's not too bad, and better than T-mobile's $15 to activate theirs.

If you have a smartphone, you can use it as a mobile hotspot for your tablet. You might have to pay an extra fee to enable this feature on your smartphone.

I already do that, but it's mainly for home visit purposes, because I don't want to use it too much up here in Chicago, and plus, where I'm at right now does not have good reception for my phone's mobile hotspot, which I pay $10/month for, so there is that. I have a mobile hotspot that's NOT part of my phone, and I'm considering cancelling that altogether, and letting it go for once and all, but the problem is, the house WiFi isn't that great, and if I went out of the house, I would be forced to use only 3G, and that burns up my phone fairly quickly, and I need to keep it stable, so there is that.

Your parents' home doesn't have WiFi?

No it does not. That's why I must bring my own hotspot on my phone, as it works down there. I highly doubt they could afford both satellite TV and Internet, so yeah, they don't have Internet there.

Just get internet ($30), netflix ($10) and hulu (free). Total around $40 without tax and depend on your area. They are lot cheaper than cable tv. Screw satellite tv and cable tv.

Yeah, don't think they're gonna fall for that. Anyhow, where would I find $30 Internet in Southern IL? My hotspot on my phone itself is a lot cheaper than that-- it's $10/month, and Netflix is $8/month, and I'm not sure Hulu is actually free.

I wasn't aware Hulu was free. Hulu.com? I checked it briefly and I don't see captions on it. Also some shows I chose to view say I must upgrade to Hulu Plus to view it.

I wish internet was $30. My only options are Comcast ($50) and AT&T ($45). My area doesn't have U-verse.

That. It's not free, and I mistrust the sites, anyways.

If you have a hotspot option on your phone, you can save a lot by using that instead of an actual Internet option. I have one on my phone, and I pay just $10/month for it. Go to www.mycricket.com to see for yourself.
