Windows XP to stop being produced April 2014

I quoted Dreamer not you. Duh

But, now that I'm thinking about it......didn't you say you bought a new laptop, with windows8 on it and were complaining you were having a hard time hooking your printer up to it???

Then please use the quote function here. Thank You.

If you don't want to deal with M$.... better save up for the Mac and you won't regret it. ;)

Mod note:

Thread's moved from General chat to Computers, Electronics, IT & Gaming.

It should be moved to:
Computers, Electronics, IT & Gaming for Retards Who don't know squat.

Just saying ...

On a serious note.... this one is old news, we know XP stopped getting support years ago. Win95, 98, 98se is long gone and we know XP will be on the list too.

Computers are changing fast and you won't be able to have XP in modern computers, besides older OS will have more security risk than modern O/S.

I switched from Xp to Mac in 2007 and am happy ever since and never came back to M$.

They cost too much, and saving up for one of those would take at least 18 months with no job. Plus I'm not a fan of weekly updates, and would much rather buy one I CAN easily save up for. A Mac costs nearly $2,000 and not easy to save up for.

You should be getting automatic weekly updates for windows, you can set it up to do it at a time you're usually sleeping.

Wait. Nevermind. What am I bothering?

:io:

Not listening to this s**t without breaking something? What happened to that "I never get pi$$&d off" thing you talked about so many times over?

I don't have weekly update on my Mac unlike M$ does. Mac is more stable and hardly any crashes.

I see your post that you don't have a job, if you don't want to wait that long, then hunt for one to have a stable life. :)

A base iMac costs $1300, if you want more top of the line that's $2,000.

Whew.... That computer better last FOREVER! :laugh2:

I gave my sister my old 2007 iMac when I bought a new one. Her iMac is still doing fine and she never complained of any problems unlike she used M$. She is happy with it.

Whew.... That computer better last FOREVER! :laugh2:

Then maybe you could stop making redundant threads and ask us for opinions that you might not like. If you think you feel are right, but we try to correct you, you get angry.. that's not a good role model. just saying.

I'm out. Not listening to this s*** without breaking something.

Wow, I know that right now I have a Sony Vaio I believe is what it's called. Most of my electronics are Sony. I like Sony though. :dunno2: Maybe I'll look into a Mac one of these days. :dunno2:

*nods at Calvins comment*

Mark, you seem like a nice enough guy.... but some of the stuff you put out there is downright unbelievable. Calvin is right, when someone tries to correct, assist, help or even just tell you that you're wrong you panic and get mad. The whole medical thing of "saving someone's life" for instance. You have me as a P.A. and ncff is a firefighter. We deal with medical things on a regular basis. When I called you out all the sudden "you forgot details" that you added in as we went. Then you come up saying "an old friend threw the sharpest rock he could find and 25 minutes later were bleeding because he hit an artery?" Again, not believable. You have one major artery in your leg and it's not easily accessible unless your friend were a MLB pitcher and that rock was straight up steel or some crap. It's located starting in the upper front of your leg and runs down the inside of your leg branching out. This artery is called the femoral artery. If you REALLY hit that, you'd have bled immediately and after 25 minutes.... Well I don't think you'd make it 25 minutes. It's a pulsing artery meaning every time your heart beats blood would spew from it. As little as 30 seconds and you'd be unconscious but you would bleed out and die from a femoral artery injury in 6 minutes or so. If it is a clean cut you will have a little longer but a rock wouldn't do that. A rock ( assuming you weren't naked ) wouldn't hit that artery come on man... Pants do serve as something that would slow the impact, even shorts would have covered the artery until the branched out parts. If you don't know something for sure, don't go put it out as fact, say... "I did something to my leg ect ect" instead. All we're trying to say is...

1) You post the most pointless threads in existence... Every once in a while... okay it happens, but you go on posting FRENZY mode! Other members have asked you to chill but you continue. ( You can do what you want as long as the MODS are okay with it, however I'm giving you an answer on why people are giving you so much crap. )

2) You repeatedly tell stories like the one listed above that people know things about. I'm in medical as I said, so is Angel1989 and when two medical members are left scratching their heads and a firefighter... somethings off.

3) You can't accept constructive critisism. People are going to get mad, you're going to make people mad... stuff happens, and we're all going to burn someone's biscuits at some point. The point being we're adults. I don't know jack beans about computers or taxes and if I needed help on this forum I read and learn. I'd probably ask Fox about computers and Jess about taxes and stuff. We can all learn from each other. Nobody is personally attacking you, we're just saying chill out, that's all. You're getting the backlash you're getting because of what you post and how much pointless stuff you post.

Again, you seem nice enough man... seriously. I'm not attacking you and I'm not sitting here belittling you or whatever. All I'm saying is the Deaf community is intelligent and very talented.... we pay close attention to everything. If someone tries to correct you.... deal with it! Listen and respond like an adult. If someone calls you out on something they believe is BS, don't keep trying to make a sinking ship float... It makes you look even worse. Lastly, if someone does snap at you a bit, you're a FRIGGING ADULT! Take it, walk away with it and be mature. It's not like someone stomped up in here and called you a poopy doodoo head or something....

Why you need $2,000 for just simple website, email, and VP?

You can buy Macbook Air 11" for just $999 and it's powerful and should last for 8 years or more.

Are you saying that cheapest MAC cost $2K?

I bought my MAC mini for only 600 dollars... NEW!

I think Windows XP will have their support extended. Simply because most business prefers Windows XP over newer OS. When I set up windows 8.1 and I looked how it works, I don't think most business would like this at all.

Good luck finding business that got their computer upgraded to WIN 8.x! I haven't seen one so far.

We have laptops with XP, W7 Home Premium, and Mac OSX. I have a tablet with Android, and a netbook with W7 Home Premium. We have desktops with W7 Professional and Linux. We're flexible. Different devices and OS's for different purposes. I also work on W Vista for friends' machines.

Legacy OS and devices have their pluses and minuses but time marches on in the world of technology.

(Still got the Blackberry for now, too. :giggle: )
