It depends on where she lives. Derek didn't mention her saying anything about open carry.well, maybe she doesn't want to conceal carry?
Did you think of that? Maybe she wants to open carry.

The key is to not let the attacker get within arm's reach.People are often shot by their own guns if someone stronger takes it away.
I've never been keen about carrying a gun in a purse, briefcase, backpack, or anything that can be taken away or lost. If one carries, it should be kept on the person. IMOIf some people knew she had a gun on her they might to steal her pocketbook ,or worst knock her out to get the gun off her body.
Berettas are sexy all around. 500 years and counting.
botteseni who is everybody? do you really want me to believe criminals who are looking to rape girls and or rob them are more likely to creep facebook and purposely choose the one who is armed and has everyone know she know show to use it, as opposed to the others who are not armed?
really?
Maybe I am unusually up tight about the thought of a deaf person owning so many guns. My partner and I talked about it because we are in NC. She took the conceal to carry class and owns something she studied and bought. But she's hearing. I signed up for the class, thinking I own a gun, so it seemed like a good idea but then... I can't hear unless I'm turned on (we "ate" the money and I didn't go). So, we both have them (my aim after all these years is still pretty good and I have a kicker of a gun - the place I practice talked about the good shape it's in). But if Marcus barks in the middle of the night, I will not be the one who grabs my revolver. I might shoot my partner.
I suppose it's another matter if she's not here and I am alone but that doesn't happen often and I would likely use it in that case. It's tricky, though.
Help me out here. Do not attack me for being concerned about being deaf. I am and I own a gun. But I own it because I was hearing when I first started shooting. 30 years later, I have the same gun. That makes sense. But I don't advertise it - my neighbors do not know - and wouldn't want to advertise it. Deaf woman/gun/... a setup? I do talk about my prior skydiving adventures and have no problem letting people see that I do ride a motorcycle. But a gun and advertising it and being deaf? It seems rather stupid.

Good for her. Maybe ask her to invite you to the range one day . you may like it. you have admitted to knowing very little. seize the day Darrick. win win.
Yes....has anyone here ever been a victim to a crime?

If an attacker gets close enough to knock out someone, it's probably too late to make a good defense with a gun.

I don't trust any purses for gun security. I had a purse snatched from me years ago. It's too easy to have a purse snatched, and then have your gun gone, too.I know a woman that does carry guy her pocketbook that design to hold a gun. If I did have a gun I would not go around broadcasting it on facebook and I would not carry it in a pocketbook or and I only time used a backpack
was when I when camping in the mountain with my dog.
