If you don't have a shredder and you only have one document, you could just use a pair of scissors and cut it up finely. (Especially any parts with your information.) Nothing special about shredding really, just an efficient way to do that if you have alot of papers you don't want retrieved.

Didn't you say that you buy e-books? Could it tie into that? Because it is another form of book and you have shown an interest in a type of book.
 
FB is ok for me. I enjoy keeping in touch with old friends, family and relatives. However I dont post much of myself in there. Someone who drew the pictures each of us (friends) when he was 13 then he posted it there. I couldnt believe that i always wore headband in 1980s. I totally forget about the headband. LOL

Yes, I am sure you are correct. But it does show the fallibility of the computer as I also buy things relating to living deaf online .

I think that's all dumb. I hate "studies" they're so easily manipulated to get the results you want. I doubt fb "can "make" you feel isolated, unless you already are. It would in essence amplify any of those feelings that are already there.

Yes, then there's the issue of your employer asking you for your FB username and password so they can review you commented on. That's why some states have outlawed the pratice, but law enforcement officers are extempt feom that law, because what they DO comment on could get them in hot water, or even lead to termination. IL does not allow employers to ask for any social media username or passwords.

That's why one of my friends doesn't like it-- too much drama, as he put it. If I want drama, I'll just go to a local theater.
 
Today on FB, my family and I were giving support to my cousin and his wife who live in California as they enter in a bodybuilding competition, congratulated my other cousin who lives in Seattle for her new job, and my grandpa's wife continues to post pics of my grandpa who recently passed away a few weeks ago. That's why I cant imagine quitting FB. No drama there.

It's mostly for younger people my age-- they use it for a variety of stuff that, shall we say, a tad too hardcore for my liking. For people like you and your family, I'm sure you keep the unwanted stuff out, and that's good (not that I'd know that), cause some of the craziness they do today doesn't suit me.

For younger people your age? My 84 year old grandpa was a daily FB user before he passed away. He loved it!

I don't mean it like that. I'm talking about the crazy and dangerous stunts that people my age or younger than myself are doing. Of course, everyone can use FB, if used properly, and not to showboat the alleged crimes. I'm sorry if I wasn't more clearer.

Oh really? I don't have many people your age on FB except for cousins who are that age range. So far, they aren't acting crazy but my 16 year old daughter has FB and I have seen what her friends have posted on her FB...some of them make me wonder where are their parents. My daughter rarely uses her FB which I find odd. She isn't into it. Guess that's a good thing.

Yes. Some people have posted pictures of murders and stuff on FB, and that's just really cold-hearted. I know where you're coming from, though. It's just that I do not want FB to influence me to try and outdo something not worth doing, if all I'm gonna do is spend the rest of my life in prison, and it's not worth it. I'm perfectly happy without it, and quite honestly, more sane.

If you are so vulnerable that you can be influenced by something you see on FB to go out and commit a crime, then you definitely need to avoid FB (and get some help in controlling your impulses).

Not to mention, what kinds of friends do you have that would post such things on FB? Maybe you need to reevaluate who you hang with.

Report them to the police and to FB if they're doing illegal stuff.
