Oh my, now I won't be thinking of the movie/book/musical the same again...

The "Land of Oz" used to be a theme park not far from me that closed ages ago but opens 1 weekend a year (THIS WEEKEND) to people to see the place. I went some when I was a kid when it was a big thing but theres now chair lift no they take people up by bus. Heres a link to some info and pics.

It is kinda ... theres one pic of a white house that's Dorothy's house ... back when it was fully operational they'd give tours through that house and had it rigged somehow where everything started shaking because of the "tornado" and you had to go through a long dark hallway to a "storm cellar" and it was dark with flashing lights and pics flashing on the walls of things flying through the air ... then when it was over you came out to the other side of the house that looked like it actually went through a tornado then when you walked outside(other side of the house than you entered) you were in the land of oz and the yellow brick road was there .... that house scared the s**t out of me as a kid lol

That does seem pretty awesome! Too bad it's only open once a year. I guess it's cool at least they haven't sold it and tore it down or anything.

Part of it burnt down years ago and business slowly died out ... Emerald City or something that burnt ... part of the property was sold off and now theres a road running through where it used to be ... its owned by a realty company now called Emerald Realty and Rentals ...

EDIT: theres a pic on the link above that shows "Dorothy's House" and looks like you can rent it lol

I'd rent it as long as I wasn't experiencing earth quakes. :D Oh, and I hate snow, so the area might be a bit of a downer. :P lol!
