and then when Installing disk 546/1713
it will say
...bad sector, cannot continue installation
 
of course its a joke, how big a box and how long would it take to install with 1713 floppies LOL, thats crazy if you'd believe that

the point was...OS's has gotten so big and that storage technology have gone a loong way since the 1990s
 
Yep, its joke! LOL

They don't make floppies anymore nowadays cause USB memory stick is far cheaper than floppies PLUS can hold much more than what floppies could hold.
 
They still make them. I use them at work on some of our old equipment. I have to order drives and floppies off the internet though because no one carries them locally.

1713 disks would hold about 2280345.6 kb. So at 100kb per second read speed it would take about 2280 sec, 380 min or 6 1/2 hours. Oh wait that was a rhetorical question wasn't it :lol:
 
It sucks as I have some old floppies with pictures I want to save.... And all the new comps and laptops don't have floppy drives.

Yes, Apple was first company to got rid of floppy disk in 1998.

My last time to use floppy disk was 2005.
 
reformatting disc it was a pain...i not had computer in years that had floppy disc drive have fond memories of windows98
 
If M$ use CD for Windows 8 so it will take 5 CD to install.
