Golf course shut down by police for failing to pay taxes

Lots of workers will go without work until things are cleared up.....serve them right too? Also Birkdale is a working man's club. It's open to the public daily or less than $2,000/yr to join there. Non-equity.

Ok maybe not a lot to some but i doubt i could find 2k laying around so i could go play golf for the year.

$40 a week. That is very cheap for golf. A decent Private Club (again Birkdale is open to the public as a daily fee) will cost around $500/mo and a $20,000 initiation fee.

Sure i understand. It just struck me as funny as i'm working class and there is no way i could afford that.
 
I feel sorry for the employees and for the dad who paid for his daughter's wedding to be held there.

They will most likely be open before the end of the week. This happens a lot in the golf industry sadly. Winters can be tough and that is when taxes are due...a lot of places try to pay them late in the sprng but if you get a rainy spring things start to add up.
