Black Bear Restaurant do you like it?

So this restaurant opened up local about a month ago. People are lining up to get in, so we tried it tonight. YUK YUK YUK YUK so not going back. Their food is unbelievably plain. If you like plain food then you will like this restaurant. Seriously, how do you mess up a dinner salad?
 
I like plain food!! It's an autistic thing. :P

What was on the menu?
 
Go with the crowd? Why try something just because it looks popular? Pretty ridiculous....

We like being adventurous with trying new things!! So if that is ridiculous then I guess so am I.

Botti the menu is huge, they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner all day long. Food is advertised as "home cooked" type of food. I like plain food too, but what we ordered had very little flavor. Plus the person dressed in a giant bear costume kept coming over to our table.

:lol: We used to go to a chain steakhouse restaurant when our kids were little, and the cow mascot came to all the tables with little kids.

My mean little kids used to exclaim, "You taste good!" when he came around to us.

I think he did learn to fail to notice us after a while. :P
 
Everyone likes to try out a newly opened resturant in hope that it will have fantastic food. If you dine out a lot then you have more experience to compare against. Never heard of black bear though. Must be. Regional to calif
 
The Black Bear diner is a very small chain that has not grown, mostly in northern CA. We have been to the one in Mt Shasta City twice but never again. Not only is the food bland, you get a ton of it! I left a dinner plate that could have fed a small army. I think there are less than ten locations. I recall there being one in Yreka and Merced, too.

Slight derail... So most of you guys on this board are from the west coast? Just wondering! A lot of you have left your locations blank. I figured that was probably because of us knowing somebody who knows somebody else. The small world and all...

Olive Garden managed that...I had to go with my coworkers after training to show I was "in the spirit of things." The food tasted like everything came out of a can. How the Hell can you mess up a simple salad? No idea...but Olive Garden found a way.....:barf:

Is there on on Mt Baldy? I went to a place there about half way up the mountain....and this sounds familiar.

I suppose it could be but I kinda think they all are up north.....I'll see if I can Google this.....
