I don't understand your question.
How did you determine the treatment should cost $10,000 or less?
I don't understand your question.
I have no idea....I'm not in that line of work.
*shrug* The costs ARE disputed.
How did you determine the treatment should cost $10,000 or less?
sure you do. you've been in business for a long time.... meaning you have an experience with what price is reasonable or not because after all... you would pay for what you think is right.
$10,000 doesn't sound bad to me. $143,000 is not reasonable. in fact, it's insane.
yes but not political. it's business.
again.... it shouldn't cost that much to buy your life back although I would be fully covered under my current healthcare coverage but under your current healthcare coverage (assuming that you do have one)... you'll be fine in case of $143,000 hospital bill?"
I didn't make a claim either way.
What is so confusing? You set a price for the treatment.....I am asking how you decided on that price...
that's not what I asked. I'm just asking you for your opinion. why not $10,000? don't you agree that $143,000 is quite too excessive?
in your opinion, what do you feel the price of anti-venom treatment should cost you?
I don't understand your question that you asked further after I answered about $10,000.
It was my thought, that it.
My friend and his family members are in medical business. The true cost of medical expense especially medical supplies is much less than the price printed on the bill. For ie, a pair of tylenol can cost you $140+ at hospital easy.
Why so high? because they can and the bill will get paid regardless.

My other friend asked me to be his partner for medical supply business. I kindly declined his offer. I will not be in business of profitting sick people at outrageous cost. It's against my belief. That's why I support Riders for Health and Doctors Beyond Borders.
And why do you think that? Just a guess?
I gave up now.
It is getting more intense now.
I wish that our government is responsible to pay medical treatment for every citizens, also I'm not very fond of capitalism, especially on healthcare. It is very important for me to maintain my health.
I gave up now.
You just gave a figure so I was curious as to how you decided on that number. How can government be responsible? Government doesn't have money. The only money government has access to is the money it takes from people. So, basically you are saying other people should be required to pay for your health care.
And why do you think that? Just a guess?
"I thought maybe $10,000," he said, noting that if he'd had the same treatment back home in Norway "it would have been free."
Trydal agreed to let the hospital release a copy of the bill to 10News. In it there are two separate charges for antivenin croatalidfab. The first charge is for $102,440 and the second is for $25,610. That is a total of $128,050.
...
The largest portion of the charges was for antivenom, a very costly life-saving drug manufactured from snake venom. The patient required 10 units of the antivenom and a night in the Intensive Care Unit, which provides around-the-clock direct nursing supervision.
Cost may be a consideration when deciding on the treatment course of mild envenomations. The cost of Crotalidae Polyvalent Immune Fab (CroFab™) is $582.50 per vial.
With regard to the cost of antivenin treatment, data were available for analysis in 64 of 75 patients treated with FabAV. The average hospital charge was $34,066, with the antivenin accounting for $24,875, representing 73% of the total hospital charges. The acquisition cost to the hospital per vial of FabAV was $1,063 and the patient charge was $2,416.
