:dunno: ask Scripps

If they write all off so they must be very nice hospital.

I'm glad that his life is saved from snake bite, regardless on medical cost or billing.

O, Thats right yeah TXgolfer.

Seriously, this is political issue. If you want changes, it has to go to political process, right?

I know you want to stay low, if staying low then I bet your ass that nothing will change.

I don't realize about article and my comment have connection with political, that's unfortunate for me.

Yup, health care reform has through the political process.

It isn't easy to stay out of political.

point is.... it shouldn't cost that much to buy your life back. Under PPACA, that will no longer be a case.

Yup, I agree with you about snake bite treatment shouldn't cost so much.

I think PPACA is better than nothing.

What is a fair price for life saving snake bite treatment?

If our breast cancer death rates rise to UK levels our costs have gone up.

that's why PPACA emphasizes on preventative services. in the long run... it will get cheaper and healthier.

I would be glad that if my life was saved and that my kids won't grow up without a father. That guy should be so lucky to get the emergency treatment so quickly instead of whining like an ungrateful dolt.

and be drowned in debt for years?

I don't see why we should push for a more affordable medical cost.... like what he said -

Trydal was admitted to the hospital and given four doses of antivenom over a 24-hour period. He was thrilled that the treatment worked and he could get back to his studies, until he heard from his insurance company.

That was when Trydal learned what his visit to the hospital cost: $143,989. He was shocked.

"I thought maybe $10,000," he said, noting that if he'd had the same treatment back home in Norway "it would have been free."

Like it did in the UK? :) So I guess those women lost during the transition are what.....collateral damage? Just the cost of nannyism?

Exactly, but you and I both know he had a motive for that. ;)

As previously and repeatedly stated by European ADers... British system is terrible but not other one.

Thing is, he is wrong.....it's not free. He just didn't have to pay for it. Wonder if he would have even survived in Norway... :dunno:

Yup, that's what I thought too.

I went to emergency room in DC after had painful left-sided after intensive activity program at Gallaudet University and the woman forgot to register my name and insurance but... turned out it was $5,000 for diagnosis and treatment. I just filled out the insurance info on it so they paid 60% due to out of network coverage. That's only left me with $1,800 in medical debt.

he wouldn't have a snakebite in Norway since it's a rare case :dunno:

Yes, of course......we have Obama's word that this will be different. They have already up the cost estimates and made cuts to his plan but yeah it will work....long run. Like when he is out on book tours and can't be held accountable for it.

ouch. last year, I went to ER for mysterious pain in my abdominal. very painful. only paid $100. the actual medical expense was over $5,000. turned out that I had a rare case.
