It certainly is wishful thinking when so many people are unwilling to work when they absolutely can. Self reliance is becoming a thing of the past. Let's all just depend on the government to kiss our little boo boo when we get hurt like the good dear nanny they are.

Let you talk, talk, talk...

I'm going get away with all right wing bullshit.

THIS! So many people out there looking for excuses not to work and free rides. It's disgusting.

No doubt about you don't understand at all.

but...

let you talk talk talk...

Umm ... no. African tribes practice ethnic cleansing and murder.
including Bushmen and Masai tribes?

How an African civil war turned to ethnic cleansing - Telegraph[/quote]
as usual... you are confused again. I said African tribes, not African people (modern). You know... the one with spears and a leaf covering their private.

We have prevented that with our great wealth and power in many parts of the world. We have "taken care" of those who cannot care for themselves. But shouldn't people who CAN take care of themselves do so?
right. that's what I'm saying and you're against that.

Why not cut unemployment for those who CAN work but refuse to? Same for SSI.
Who said we should continue to pay for those lazy bums?

ah..... so that means medicare, medicaid, food stamp, SSI, SSDI, etc. should be abolished?

What happens is the cost of health care will keep rising and the great majority will be without it. The problem cannot be solved without a collective solution.

Personally, I'm not for Obamacare, but it's a start. The concept is sound. However, it's not the same as car insurance because nobody can opt out. I believe England's solution is the best one. If you can afford to fund a war you can afford to fund healthcare, it's that simple. We are giving the government money and it's time they do something smart with it.

Whether Obamacare gets overturned or not, the sun will rise the next morning, and every morning, for as long as the Lord wills it. :)

Here is a better solution......everyone start living responsible and taking care of themselves. Few years ago there was a study (sorry, I can't find the link) that 72% of visits to the ER where not required and could be seen during a regular doctors office visit. Also, 84% were care for preventable illness and/or accidents. This means that people themselves are responsible for the high cost of insurance for all of Americans.

Uninsured people couldn't see regular doctor aka primary care unless they have enough money to pay, otherwise, they have go to ER as only option if they don't have enough money to see regular doctor aka primary care.

In UK, if you are sick and you can see a primary care that run by government but in US, no and doctor visits are too expensive for minimum wage jobs.

ER visits are necessary if you are too ill or in great pain or both that can't controlled with painkillers, it could be serious.

Of course you can't find a link. It doesn't exist. So forgive me if I don't believe what you just said.

If a person is uninsured, don't you think they would take whatever action necessary to avoid putting themself in need of going to the ER and/or a primary care doctor?

If a person is uninsured, don't you think their immediately goal is to become insured and they would do whatever possible to become such.

If a person is uninsured, don't you think it is wise that this person NOT take on the responsibility of another person, especially a child?

There are many, many people whom don't give the above ANY consideration and make others pay the price.

If they are ill or having diseases that require doctor visit and treatment, especially infection, so uninsured people have go to ER if they couldn't afford to see a primary doctor. Remember about untreated strep throat will leading to more complication like rheumatic fever. If you are very ill other than common cold and doesn't know about what's wrong so always see doctor for check up.

If family is too poor or having a entry level job like minimum wage so they couldn't afford to insure their child. Sometime, the child from poor family will qualify for Medicaid but from lower middle class with stinky benefits, it has no chance to get a Medicaid. They will end up with numerous medical debts and drive them into bankruptcy.

They do have responsibility and if they have job with stinky benefits so they have no choice at all. Having own insurance is very expensive.

When I lived in DC, I was thrown to ER at midnight because unable to breath with extreme nervous, they found that I have pneumonia, it was extremely pain for me.

They have many choices, changes jobs, get a second job, get a third job, free clinic, county clinic, charity clinic, borrow from family or friends, payment plan. The only people that don't have options are those who chose to ignore their options.
