Pet Peeves

You just reminded me of when I first moved to Montreal 20 years ago when smoking was permitted everywhere - I went to a grocery store and asked the deli guy to slice some lunchmeat. When the ash from his cigarette fell on the piles of slices, I walked out.

Ew!

I remember my freshman year at gallaudet, the dorm has 4 floors that i hate going up to 4 floor because of the people smoking and the smokes went float up to the fourth floor and it stinks real bad! i bet royal remember it very well! The following few months later, no longer smoking in the dorm. YAY!

I have two major pet peeves - stupid drivers in any shape or form
yep yep yep...

And some what smaller grammar peeve is the whole it's/its thing. I can't help it, I do grit my teeth over this.

do you mean like this?...(below);
well, today i had to tell 2 rich women (1 in BMW convertable, other in bright yello Honda LEV of sort -probably a civic -ugly new jap car thats a french-wanna-be) both of them was going to scratch my car!

i just get lazy, this is not essay writing, but when i do, I avoid apostrophe-using habits completely, well I try to.

People who never consider how what they do affects others. You know, the type that HAS to leave their grocery cart in the middle of the isle while they look at something else. People that park in handicapped spaces "just for a minute". People who leave clothes all over the dressing room after trying them on.

I do not use a W/C but I hate it when people leave their shopping carts in Marshall's so they're blocking the way to the bathrooms! It is a safety risk if a person is in a W/C in the restroom and has to get out of the store fast if there is an emergency the shopping carts will blocking their way . I saw woman parking her motorcycle in a handicapped parking space and I told she was wrong to park there and she moved her motorcycle , the woman said she did not think of it . Some people are so wrapped up in their own little world they do not think of other people.

my major pet peeve on road is the angry, impatient drivers. just wow... I wonder if they would be appalled at themselves if they saw a video of themselves acting like angry German kid

my pet peeve is people not maintaining themselves especially their fingernails/toenails and dirty feet.

seriously.... WTF? it's disgusting and unsightly. please people - take a moment of your time to clip'em and clean your feet. and if your fingernails/toenails are unsightly to look at, see your doctor. it's a sign of your health in trouble.

long fingernails on women are ok as long as it's nice :)

what I was referring to is the one that looks like one has fungus infection or has a nasty toe jam.

Talking of nasty toe jam, I was once washing a clients feet and she asked me if there was any toe jam between her toes and I said "NO" Then my client said "Boo HOO now I CAN"T have a toe jam sandwich!" I felt like :barf: after hearing that!! She was a real disgusting person and hated having her for a client.

um, i didn't see any its or it's in what you wrote?

huh? It's and its is inappropriate in formal essay writing?

I think Grum was trying to say that he doesn't use the apostrophe in certain social conversational conditions (forums, IM, etc) and I noticed he didn't add it for "thats".

I am similar in that way sometimes. I try to write articulately on reports, email and forums, but in instant messaging whatever goes, sometimes I won't capitalize my "i"'s.
Or I might write "u" for "you" on a text message if I was really lazy or wanted to save an extra space and make the ~164 character limit.

Speaking of that, is anyone here peeved when people type "u" for "you"?
How about "yo" for hello?
