OMG. I don't know if I even want to read the article. So sad that such evil exists in this world. May she RIP.
 
Some nasty, trashy, probably drug addicted low lifes that deserve to be tarred and feathered.

Heartbreaking and disgusting. I hope those four suffer the worst kind of pain humanly possible.
 
Poor girl! :( RIP! She got a full of life ahead of her, and now cut so short! :(

Reading the article, there was nothing to suggest they were drug addicted low lifes. However, they clearly were not capable of taking care of a child. Locking a child up for mere misbehavior is deplorable. Like you, I hope they are found guilty. Then, sentenced to a long prison term.

I wonder as well. They may have been mistreated as children. They may have had normal lives.

Either way. It is no excuse to lock a child in a box. They knew it was wrong that is why they lied about it in the first place.
 
Reading the article, it seems they were noted for treating the child with cruelty. Too bad no one did anything about it.
 
The parents were just plain mean. The disturbing part is that neighbors knew that the parents forced her to walk laps without shoes. None of the neighbors reported it to CPS.

In my state, reporting suspected child abuse is mandatory for everyone. Special rules apply to professionals.

It's a myth that abuse only happens in poor homes. Often, it's even harder to go after a wealthier abuser and the victims have more reason to stay.

Yep. People want to express their outrage when something like this happens, but it doesn't seem to bother them enough when it is going on to take the time to report.
