I have not been referencing drphil's posts. I don't see how he "owns" the term "Deaf militant," which I have used in my questions about what it means to people. Deafcaroline quoted him to me and told me to defend him. Which is rather bizarre and out of the blue.

I simply don't see it as "sides." I don't think life and relationships among individuals = war games. If I differ with an individual's opinion on some topic, that doesn't make him "the enemy," to be attacked at every turn.

I've seen what I might consider the equivalent of your "rabid oralism," but certainly not here on AD -- I've never seen anyone who is anti-ASL here, and I can't imagine someone with that perspective giving a damn what we think here.

Then you haven't been around long enough. We have had our share of rabid oralism quite often here. I refer you back to post 629 for just a tiny sampling of the rabid oralism that has occurred here.

If you don't see it as "sides", why are you so inclined to defend people like drphil and faire jour, despite the fact that they stand against what you claim to stand for?

Trust me, the oralists and the audists are indeed the enemy of the Deaf. You will see that as your daughter gets older and begins to experience the negative results of such.

And it is not just drphil. I can think very quickly of 2 other posters who ridicule the Deaf perspective that she has defended. I simply cannot see defending audist comments and beliefs as productive to the D/deaf community.

Yes. Very ironic, isn't it? But I would hate to see the thread locked. New parents coming in need to see this. I know frankiesmom has gotten quite the education in a short amount of time. She now knows who is sincere and who vacillates.

No, it occurred in this very thread on this very day. It is there in black and white for all to see. You are really deluding yourself if you think that only a couple of people see what DC and I are seeing. It started before you addressed Beowulf on "Deaf militants". You seem to have a memory of convenience.

Seriously, you need to stop inserting words and meaning into other's posts so that you can force them to appear to be what they are not.

I don't see your whole conversation here as a defense of drphil. Most of it has been an attempt to defend your own behavior. But I have seen you vacilate over and over and over again on this forum in numerous threads. You claim to believe one thing, but then behave in a manner that is contradictory to what you claim to stand for.
