Again? I'll believe it when I see it.

Last December the Congress passed a law to end DADT and Obama signed it in order to become an official law.

Now we are waiting for the Pentagon to make an official announcement to end it.

Go on and announce, already! Time to move into the 21st century.

It's funny...I read one story from a soldier who said that there was another soldier who's gay but he works harder than him and he even saved his life from an attack. So he appreciated him for saving him but he was pissed at President Bush being completely against gay marriage so he was like "Fuck you Bush. After all they do their hard work to our country, this is the thanks they get?" So...with Bush out of the office (thank god) alot of states are passing laws for legal gay marriages anyway.

Yep. Gays are human and it is high time the states recognize that.

Not only are they human, they are productive and contributing members of this society. They deserve the same rights as anyone else is granted.

I keep thinking; when are we going to allow illegal aliens to earn their citizenship? Why are we sending our kids overseas when people jump the border and get in free?

We already do that.

Read again: ILLEGAL ALIENS. They are not required, nor are they accepted, into the military.

Hmmm. I think just a few days ago I read an article about a soldier earning his citizenship by serving in Afghanistan. Sounded like he was illegal, so I assumed it. Maybe I assumed too much.

Why would he need to earn his citizenship if he were not illegal to begin with?:hmm:

"President Bush issued an executive order in 2002 making it easier for foreign-born U.S. troops to naturalize. Congress further modified immigration laws late last year.

As a result, any legal resident who enlists in the military can immediately petition for citizenship rather than wait the five years required for civilians to start the process. Those in the military previously had to wait three years to become citizens. And $390 in petition and fingerprinting fees are waived for servicemembers."

"Army Spc. Guadalupe Forcado, of San Bernardino, is a Mexican immigrant who has lived in the United States 22 of her 23 years.

'I already felt like I was part of this country,' she said, 'but I wanted to call myself a citizen. To me, it is an honor...

The five-year waiting period for civilians not married to a U.S. citizen and the standard processing fee of more than $1,000 were waived, she said.'

She and 20 other soldiers from 14 countries were sworn in as U.S. citizens Thursday morning at the Army's National Training Center at Fort Irwin. All were legal immigrants with green cards."
