I'm so outta here
Yeah, difficult to hold yourself in check in here, isn't it?
Yep - real hard. Can't believe how it's turn into such a hatred filled thread. At least to me it is. Have to keep my stress level down and such, so, you know?
then why in the world are you complaining about farmers hiring illegals![]()
if you believe it's just healthier to grow your own vegetables.... then don't you think it's better and productive for you to preach about Americans growing their own food? It would solve a handful of our budget crisis because billions of dollars from Medicare/Medicaid/SSI/SSDI has gone to Americans who are obese or have health problems resulting from eating unhealthy food.
btw - you gonna hire that unemployed legal citizen to do some farming for you?
I, one of the conservatives, neither demonize legal immigrants nor illegal aliens. All I ask is that our borders be protected from unauthorized entry by people of all nationalities. Some of them are from Mexico but not all of them, and I don't think every time illegal alien is mentioned one should assume it's a Mexican. Also, just because someone in America is of Mexican descent, one shouldn't assume the person is here illegally....Comments regarding the unwillingness of most legal citizens to do the work the illegal immigrants are doing is a rhetorical point showing the hypocrisy of those who are in favor of demonizing the immigrants (rather than those who exploit them). After all, unless conservatives are talking about them scary Mexicans invading our holy and pure country....

Also, our country, much as I love it, is neither holy nor pure but I would like to have its borders protected.
I believe supporting E-Verify does go after those who exploit illegal alien workers.
I voted for the representatives of our state who created and passed the South Carolina immigration and E-Verify enforcement bill, and I voted for the governor who will sign the bill into law. My state also requires proof of status for getting drivers licenses and ID cards. I don't have to ask anything right now of my state government. How do you ask? Do you write to your Senator? To your political party of choice?

No, it doesn't say that God approved of involuntary servitude (slavery). God acknowledged that slavery existed in those cultures. He provided a way of redemption out of slavery.
What's funny and seeing the hypocrisy here is that Mexico is doing the very same thing in their attempt to protect their southern border (which is much, much smaller in length than the U.S.) where they round up illegal aliens and send them back across the border of Guatemala and constructing a fence/wall along near the Guatemalan border.I, one of the conservatives, neither demonize legal immigrants nor illegal aliens. The bill just passed a few days ago, and is awaiting the governor's signature. It becomes effective in January. So I can't say anything yet about enforcement. Are they enforcing those laws? Any problems with illegal workers in your state after the passing of the bill? Here's the thing - it's already against the law for immigrants to be in the US illegally. It's already against the law to hire illegal workers. Passing more laws are not going to change anything if they are not being enforced. There wouldn't even be a need to pass more laws if the original ones were being enforced and upheld. So, if you don't like what's happening, speak up and let the government know how you feel instead of posting on this thread. The government is not reading it.

Say what? As far as I know, adultery still goes on.Right you are, but as 10: 1-12 defines what adultery is, then 20:10 does NOT give a "rule", it give a solution, DEATH.
In other words, God allows slavery to continue, as long as you follow God's rule but adultery is NOT allowed to continue, so there is no need for rules.
The Handmaid's Tale is a book of fiction. I haven't read it but I looked at the synopsis on Wiki. Wow, is that some bizarre story!:Ohno:That biblical reference freaks me out because I just finished reading the Handmaiden's Tale. :Ohno:
