The premise is clear at the beginning of the book....."we need a new psychology"

a quick search (something you recommend we do) shows that in nearly 50,000 posts you never once used "external control psychology" until after having read the book. That is what I find humorous......especially since it is such a common concept.

Unfortunately, you were only able to search my use of the term under "jillio". I have been using the term in academic papers on psychology and sociology for many years now. See what happens when you attempt assumptions without all of the knowldge you need to make them even probable? You make an ass of yourself.

Which, by the way, is a concept totally separate from the concept of external control psychology and loci of focus. But I don't expect you to grasp that.

Extrinsic motivation, diadic reciprocity...those are just a couple. All the same concept. The field of sociology would simply use
"Control Theory." Controlling personality would be the term a layman would be familiar with. It would apply to, for instance, the person who continually attempts to make himself look better by attempting to make another look worse.:cool2:

I'm so glad the uniform dress code helps neturality in attitude when it comes to clothing. They can't insult or fight over clothing that is funny to someone. I still dislike baggy pants that are low below the underwear no matter if its in k to 12 or out of the world.

They all should go to "What Not to Wear" and they will take care of them.

I was with a group of black women today, so I asked one about the slaves in cotton fields connection. She said that she had heard about the guys in prison having baggy pants, and about the slaves working in the cotton fields. She doesn't consider either one to be valid reasons for wearing baggy pants. She says it doesn't honor anyone, and it's just a style thing. Wearing baggy pants in her family is frowned upon.
