Hmm, it went up to 2.25 a ride here.
It's cheaper to drive around a family tho.
There are a few Park & Ride lots but not in the direction that I travel....Yeah, it sucks that it's not available everywhere. I'd imagine it's a lot worse/more difficult when you're not right inside a city. I'm guessing your area doesn't have Park & Rides, either? (We've got those in the outer suburbs here, where you can drive and leave your car during the day, next to a big bus stop, so you only have to drive 1-2 miles, rather than the 10-15 miles it'd otherwise be to work.)

Do you have disabled ID card to get discount on bus rides? I have that collecting dust. It's because I don't live in Seattle area. I will use it just in case I come to visit or move back.
It's about 7 miles to the closest bus stop from my house.![]()
That's right!Hey, look at it this way... you don't have to walk 14 miles uphill in the snow to school!

My other problem is that my car is also my "office," so it's kinda hard for a bus to fulfill that function. As a freelance terp, I also have to be able to change plans and be able to go to a new destination without prior notice, so that makes scheduling complicated. It doesn't happen often but it happens enough. I've been called to zip out to a medical appointment or funeral straight from my college work, and I can't wait for a bus. (I keep extra clothes and GPS in my Jeep, along with emergency rations in case I don't get time to eat lunch that day.) If I have long breaks between assignments, instead of driving home I take naps, read a book, or surf the web in my car. Can't do that with a bus.
I've had three accidents and one act of vandalism with my vehicles, all from my college work place. That's why I don't like to commute.![]()

Hahaha, that reminds me of this winter. My office has two entrances, one at the front of the building and one at the back, and the one in the back is downhill from the one in the front. So one day when it snowed, me and two of my coworkers decided that we were going to go to lunch on a restaurant on the street next to our building, so we left out the back entrance and came in the front just so that we could say that we had to walk uphill in the snow both ways to lunch.
Same with Houston! And don't get me started about folks using the bus as a potty!
Ewww! Gross!I have seen people using the bus stop as a toilet a couple of times in the last 2 weeks. In front of alot of people too.
