I'm not sure what you mean by this question?

(p.s. I LOVE wide angle lens :D)

LOL, don't know? I love wide angle lens too. I can fit big objects in pictures without having to walk far back or something in the way.

Haha, I agree. But here is a shot of mine that I think is a "wide shot" and I still didn't center the main subject (the skyline)

So, yeah, just because you have a wide angle lens doesn't mean you HAVE to put things in the center of your shot :)

Is wide angle lens a big no no, too? Since you said you don't suggest many pictures to be center of the picture?

Wide angle is good. crop make visual smaller. Here example
Never mind, it won't let me upload for some reason.

How about panorama shots? That would work. Some cameras have built in panorama feature. Also, you can do that with your computer software, too. My phone camera has panorama feature that can sew it together to make a complete shot. Altho, my digital camera don't have that.

speaking of paranoma - that needs extreme careful work as it needs perfection to make it as if the camera doesn't have the pananoma feature.

Yeah, panoramas are FUN! I actually just got the PhotoSynth app on my iPhone, which does pretty decent panoramas. Of course, they're not perfect, but close enough for me!

They are a pain to stitch together in Photoshop, though. Haha.

Yep! My Samsung running Android OS has built in software, of course not perfect as well. The light metering and all that shit won't be exactly the same causing the picture to look a little funny making it look like a 3 pictures instead of 1.

Ugh, don't remind me of the one job I did... Three crooked pictures I had to stitch together. It drove me crazy.

You're not a good photographer then so don't try and claim your knowledge in this subject when Taryn and I have a degree in this specific field.

lol i knew you'd come out with this remark.

:)

First - it's really all about pride if you dont crop.

Second - cropped pictures are EVERYWHERE. Sometimes you just have to crop, and I am in full support of it.

And if you want to come off like that, I could ask you where are you working?

Cropping won't make you a better photographer. That's what all the amateurs do and Joey here wants to make it into a serious hobby so I'm teaching him.

Where am I working? I actually work as a freelance photo editor.

Here's a serious question... Where are YOU working?

I think what lana meant by cropping being a no-no is that a photographer shouldn't compose his or her photos thinking that they'll "just crop this later in photoshop" when they could frame it the way they want to in the first place, etc.

I agree, though, that sometimes cropping can't be avoided. I just think it shouldn't be used as a crutch to a photographer's creativity.

And play nice, boys and girls. Play nice.
