Steve Jobs, sick Apple CEO,
makes surprise appearance at unveiling
of iPad 2 in San Francisco

Sickly Apple CEO Steve Jobs made a surprise
appearance in San Francisco Wednesday to unveil
the hotly-anticipated second version of the iPad.

A standing ovation greeted a frail-looking Jobs as
he took the stage at the Yerba Buena Center in his
signature black mock turtleneck, blue jeans and
wire-rimmed glasses.

"We've been working on this product for a while,
and I just didn't want to miss today," Jobs said, his
voice strong.

Before showing a sleek video about Apple's
revolutionary tablet, Jobs declared 2010 the year of
the iPad.

"We've gotten off to an exceptional start," Jobs said.
"We haven't been resting on our laurels ...We're
going to introduce today iPad 2."

News of Jobs' presence sparked an immediate jump
in Apple stock.

The 56-year-old visionary has been on a leave of
absence since January - his third - because of
undisclosed health problems, and has mostly
avoided major Apple events.

In the last decade, Jobs has survived a rare form of
pancreatic cancer and undergone a liver transplant.

The new, thinner, lighter iPad has two cameras for
taking photos and video chatting, and a faster
processor. It comes in black and white, and it's 8.8
millimeters thick instead of the current 13.4
millimeters.

"The new iPad 2 is actually thinner than your iPhone
4," Jobs said.

The new model will be available on March 11 and
will cost the same as the original - $499 to $829,
depending on storage space and whether or not
they can connect to the Internet over a cellular
network. In the U.S., the iPad 2 will work on AT&T
Inc. and Verizon Wireless.

Apple created a new accessory for the iPad 2: $39
plugs that will let people connect the tablet to high-
definition televisions, so they can watch
videos up to 1080p in resolution on larger screens.

The surprise was that Jobs showed up in person.

See video demo for new iPad 2.

He looks so much skinny lately...

Yes, I've noticed how thinner he is than he was before. :eek3:

yea damn pancreatic cancer.

Pancreatic carcinoma - PubMed Health
Ninety-five percent of the people diagnosed with this cancer will not be alive 5 years later.

Steve Jobs was diagnosed with cancer in around 2004. and now it's 2011... he said he had a rare, less aggressive type so chemotherapy's not needed. He had a liver transplant in 2008.

well he's a billionaire. plenty of money to buy extra time.

New iPad 2 display is same resolution as your old iPad? blurry to read?

I sold my iPad. The screen is great, color is awesome, but I don't use it much since I have Macbook PRO. iPad 3 with retina is WORTH to buy.

Are you getting iPad 2?

Not yet but I must see it at Apple store.

I hope iPad 2.5 have retina display or 2048x1536 and 2 MB front-facing cam than VGA (.91 MB) this September. if nothing is news this year, wait to see iPad 3 next year.

But...
Vuze torrent movies can't be download to iPad. Should transfer it to iDevice via iTunes.
Hulu movies can't be viewed to it. Must pay monthly for Hulu Plus service.
Mobile YouTube don't support CC or subtitle.

I have my Macbook Pro that could be download movies and viewed movies. I have Logitech C910 webcam. It s high quailty video than iSight integrated webcam.
