Aaa

I'm AAA member for 19 years too. I paid $78 a month for both of my vehicles. AAA been good to me and my wife. Though in past had accidents, tickets. AAA didn't raise rate that much. We are good drivers so that's why.

Whew, I was not the only one. I used paid $1,200 a month for few years when i was very young due I got over ten speed tickets from Chicago. I drove a lot like almost 100 miles a day for school, job, 2nd job, and friends. One time, I got almost $500 fined for 100mph in 65mph from WI. It was happen almost six years ago. So I don't get speed tickets for almost two years. I feels so great. I never do drink and drive before. I always ask friends to stay over first before I drink.

DUI = 5 points is too high than your speed ticket = 1 to 3 points for increase insurance rate.

How many of you are membership with AAA? AAA Auto Insurance? I'm curious, because I am auto insuring with state farm, and they kept changing the 6 month policy every month even I have a clean record. I'm sick of it.

You are not alone, My friend had State Farm and agent charged him double on insurance that he never had wreck or tickets. Until new agent took over, he fixed my friend's insurance and told him that rate was wrong. He found out that former agent was discriminating against deafie. He did not pursue lawsuit against him.

I've called several insurance co back then when I was in college. Kansas Bureau of Insurance (KBI) was the one that really discriminate deaf. I called them asking for rate. They said they do not insure for deaf and hung up on me. I asked my hearing brother and pretend that he's "me". So he called and got the rate and told me. It was a bit too much so I went ahead to different insurance.

Some Insurance are not deaf friendly and they think Deafie are dangerous driver. It's illegal for them to discriminate deaf and handicapped by denying coverage or unreasonably raise unfair rate on them.

It's normal.

Also, people who non-citizen and get DUI more than 3 times then Gov will kick them out of USA. That's what I heard.
ah - that was cleared up at Supreme Court several years ago. DUI is not really a deportable offense but you can get deported if it's an aggravated felonious offense.

ie. you killed somebody cuz you were DUI (aka vehicular homicide/manslaughter)

According to Highlander... he was speeding about 100 mph. That's 5 points and/or automatic suspension. It's an arrestable offense as well so he's lucky to not get in jail.

in NJ (and I believe most of states) when speeding in excess of 30 mph or more, that's 5 points. The officer can also charged you with Reckless Driving which is 5 points too. If you accumulate 6+ points in just 3 years, you will be charged with $150 surcharge fee plus $25 per point. (ie. You have 8 points so that's $150 + 3x$25). plus... high insurance rate.

12+ points = suspension

Correct me if I'm wrong but in Illinois - they don't do point system like NJ-NY. They go by # of tickets in x amount of time.

That's correct. Illinois do not have point system. Just WI that's all I know. I believe I was lucky for not go to jail due I live from other state.

The officer from WI told me that I am suspension for 30 days for WI then he gave my license back. So I don't bother drive WI around for 30 days.
