You Sir Are A Bigot

There's room on the bus....

We better not take the bus to that school though.....They may not like southerner either..... :Ohno:

LOL. I am sure they do not like Carrie Prejean either (but its perfectly ok to broadcast her private sex tapes right?)

I have never seen the political pendulum swing so fast .....

so do you stand behind Packer's back?

I stand behind anyone's back to practice and believe in their religion. It is also Constitutional.

Doesn't mean I agree to their beliefs. It also doesn't mean I am required to be governed by their beliefs either.

I'm getting sick and tired of the new conservative tactic of claiming blatant discrimination as "a different opinion" (as in the case of the "Ground Zero Mosque") or some protected right based on the first amendment. Then to try and turn around and say that not tolerating discrimination is, in fact, discriminatory itself??? Unbelievable. You guys aren't fooling anybody.

and I am exercising within my Constitutional rights to speak out against this bigotry. You behind my back too?

I'm not a conservative.
BTW - Check out the Chicago thread, Alex. You'll see I'm a democrat!

I didn't mean to imply that you were a conservative, but I've noticed this argumentative tactic coming more and more from the extreme right. Be careful with your rhetoric. Just because it sounds logical doesn't mean it is.

And, haha, so you're a democrat because you're going to be doling your hard-earned treats to us entitled freeloaders. Sweet, I'll take a piece of that action! ;)

Not if your discriminating against a person who is practicing their rights to the free exercise of religion.

He has rights too.

interfere? how?
You don't think that the "open letter" is asking him to quit preaching against homosexuality? In that case, what is the purpose of the "open letter?" What do signers of the letter expect to happen as a result of this letter?

free speech. the same rights that Mr. Packer has. this is not the first time there is "open letter" toward anything. so what do you think of his sermon?

Ok .... so why don't you ask the imam of the ground zero mosque his opinions on homosexuality?

Just a thought ....

has he publicly announced it like Packer did?

Not really, just wait until home and let you read a full website about HRC.
That's what I did, a few minutes ago.

What action do you think the "open letter" is requesting?

has he publicly announced it like Packer did?

Why don't you ask him too ... just for the record? :giggle:

Would he be well within his rights to do so?

Would you send out an open letter denouncing the ground zero mosque when he does?

Why not just have a gay bar for Muslim men built across the street named "Git Mo"?

That is completely unrelated to this discussion. Nevertheless, if he did say something discriminatory, I would condemn his words, but that's no reason to discriminate and not allow them to build the community center, if that's the the argument you're trying to infer here.

To tell you the truth, I think that's a fantastic idea. Whatever happened to those people who were planning on building one? No dice? Thought TX was gonna do the contracting for free. LOL.
