Lou Ferrigno is on Chuck on NBC right now!

Somebody will probably take offense since he is talking and I think just portraying a regular hearing character, but I am thrilled.

I loved Lou Ferrigno ever since he was The Hulk!

Have to catch that show....but I've always loved Lou too...he's so dreamy....

He also had a talking part in the program "Kings of Queens".

Sometime I wonder if he has as much of an hearing loss as he claims to have.

First of all, I'm not even sure if he even wears any hearing aids when he's on TV? It's hard to tell just from looking at the television?

And also watching him play his part on TV, sometime I wonder how does he even know when to say which lines at certain times when he's not even looking at the other characters on the show, etc.

Also, from what I've gathered, he also uses the phone, etc.

For starters, I doubt if he has a profound loss. And perhaps it's more in the severe or possibly even mild / moderate range.

I think sometime some people as may be in the case with Lou, like going around saying they're "deaf" even when they may have a little more hearing cause first "it may make a better story". That they were able to do this or that in spite of their deafness, etc.

Although I could be mistaken. And just my constructive 2 cents worth.

Any chance anyone here in the forum that could know more about Lou than I do or knows more about him, etc?

If hearing actors can portray deaf characters, then why not deaf actors portray hearing characters? :)

After all, Ferrigno wasn't really a green super creature either. :giggle:

That's why it's called "acting."

Has anyone ever seen a pre-lingually deaf person have a speaking role?

No. Then again, I haven't seen all the movies or TV programs.

Not all hearing characters in movies and on TV necessarily have speaking roles. Hearing character and speaking role are not synonymous.

Yeah, I know. It is just that altogether too often I have seen a hearing actor play the role of a deaf person, not vice versa. I remember the uproar over the old movie "Voices" which resulted in CAV (Coalition Against Voices), and I wonder what became of that. I'm aware that actors go through auditions and get weeded out, but I still cannot name a single truly deaf actor who has speaking roles. Interesting.

Oh boy....all that mass!....Hmmmm, muscles are sexy (I think), but Lou somewhat over did it in these pixs!...

I remember watching a lot of his films when I was a kid. :)

This is Lou Ferrigno on Chuck last night.

in the last pic of him you can see he had hardened and downward (wieghted) nipples, its a sure sign he was pushing the body with Roids, in fact probaby close to developing 'bitch tits' but like since he was pushing himself so hard physically he "managed it" but nevertheless still quite dangerous, i would imagine he'd have had shrunked balls several times then backed off the en regain the normal level of horomone production from the body itself (not the induction from steriods).
theres also another thing he did with the conditioning phase but i arent gonna tell

oh theres no way he'd make this sort of muscles with that dumbbells its TINY !!, they use something like 10-20 times heavier than depicted in the picture (weights depending on what he's doing)

Sure there's nothing wrong with that. :)

I was also kind of wondering how was he able to do it from a "functional" sense though?

As you see even from the pictures in this thread, it looks like he's not even wearing any hearing aids.

One possibility is that he may just know what to say at the right time based on hearing the other characters speak on the show even if he doesn't necessarily always understand what they say (i.e. that is when not looking at the speaker...)?
