Gallaudet Film

can't view the video! :mad2: Stupid work PC but I'll check it out in two weeks when my PC gets replaced *evil laughter*

I thought the video was very well done. Makes me wish, like Botti, that I was younger and more able.

Wow, that is beautiful and powerful. I love the film about Gallaudet University. Yeah, like other Aders, I wish I had gone to Gally if I could have change the time backwards. But it is too late. I am stuck. Yike! :(

Haha, we all have our wishes! I wish I knew enough ASL to qualify as a visiting student! I don't want to transfer, but I'd love to study there for a semester or two.

It looks so wonderful to have all those people around you that understand you and your language. It seems so comfortable and very much like a home. I was mainstreamed and have never had an environment like Gallaudet. I'm working on my ASL and hopefully I might be able to learn enough eventually!

I managed to snup the youtube link - and watched the video, it is a great film and couldn't believe I was at Gally only 5 or 6 months ago.

Royale, i know we both have already been there that is exaclty what the film is all about. But don't you feel like you want to go back to gally all over again. I DO! I probably change my major only and the rest of others that i wouldn't change my college life. ha!

I came very close to going to Gally, but I didn't because of a stupid boy.

Yeah I do. :)

This film made me felt so nostalgic! It made me wish I could go back to Gallaudet, ha. I miss those days. :)

On the other hand, the film itself is -- WOW -- There's no words to describe the influx of emotions that are showing true immersion of one who could ever possibly experience the total cultural and language exchanges. It is beautiful. It is like no world that all of us could give and receive in all equality. No barriers. No frustrations. No upstanding of confusions. None of "Huh? What?" dialogue, so and on. The film exactly shows what life is like at Gallaudet and there's no other place like that.

so good! The poet at the beginning--wow amazing. The whole thing was beautiful. I want to go there. So good.

They can evaluate your ASL skills so they can refer you to attend free ASL courses in order to advance your fluency in ASL.

Yes The poem was performed by Manny Hernadez from New York City. He had dropped out and returned to Gally a few times until he finished his degree at last. He used to belong to the Class of 1990 organization that I am a proud member of. :)
