Actually, that is true. We do have Americans coming here trying to get free healthcare. Sometimes they'll succeed, sometimes they won't.

I've never heard of this. In Ontario, you won't get anywhere without your health card.

The best chance to succeed is to get a Canadian resident to claim you as a co-dependent.

:hmm: State run health care instead of Federal.......Has anyone mentioned this idea to Obama?????

Sometimes state run healthcare is part of the problem.

you can't use medicaid in another state if they have a hospital that specialized your condition.

Not really a new idea. The British NHS is divided into 4 countries... all the horror stories you hear are from the English NHS. I know Scots that prefer the Scottish NHS over the English... just because of the quality of care. Yikes.

If I am not mistaken, Obama is modelling something closer to the continental European national healthcare?

I know....it was sarcasm

That is a huge problem with the system. As is not allowing people to buy policys offered in other states.

alberta is moving towards a more american system, therefore i disagree that it's the best.
*EQL*

It's already happening in Ontario. They have private clinics across the Ontario even though it isn't "legal" but they're turning a blind eye to it.

Two-tier system healthcare is what's happening in Alberta, it's not like the American system. Thank god though. But I wouldn't be surprised if that's what they're pushing for.
