Deadly WMD discovered....

You in a droll mood, kokonut? I loved it!

I remember seeing a video of this in action.

This would help with the West Nile Virus! :)

DDT did a good job of keeping malaria down before it was unnecessarily banned. It's a matter of using it appropriately. And it's a myth about how it affected the integrity of egg shells of birds.

By single handedly banning DDT it caused more deaths unnecessarily into the millions than any irresponsible organization could hope for to be named as the unknown mass murderers in the name of environmental politics.

DDT is very bad and more damage than being good because it did harmful to wildlife animals, even humans too.

It is good reason about DDT is banned due environmental and health safety.

I disagree with you over myth about affect birds, it did already affected bald eagles so when after DDT banned and bald eagles boomed.

Additional, DDT is necessary in African countries because of malaria due larger population of mosquitoes, in US, there's alternative to DDT to avoid from mosquitoes, such as OFF! brand and any insecticides that capable to kill mosquitoes, even malaria isn't big issue in US either.

eh only to a certain degree

I don't have any idea about what are you talking?

In fact, US banned usage of DDT in 1972 and farmers have use different pesticides for crops, don't know about what kind but nothing is trace of DDT, even it is still illegal for use pesticides that contain a trace of DDT, it has nothing with secret because we never heard about it.

read my post again. where exactly did I talk about ban? That's not what I talked about in my post. I said "to a certain degree." Do you know what that means?

Yup, it means not as I think, right?

I never heard about use word of DDT that existing to use as pesticides for crops, it sounds like you are refer as formula of DDT that used in pesticides like chlorine and I learned that we are using organophosphate in pesticide for crops today.

It appears that you can't resist going into debate mode on some threads. You make a statement like this and for sure there will be debate going on for a while. I wonder if you live to debate things.

Only because I got reminded when somebody mentioned the West Nile virus did I remember about DDT and Malaria in Africa.

DDT is the single most effective insecticide control against the spread of Malaria in Africa. By getting rid of DDT based on a lie and political correctness caused the deaths of millions of people in Africa. The prevention on the use of DDT killed rather than helped.

what lie? what political correctness? please give some examples so I see what you're getting at.

Well, DDT is legal in some African countries, depends on which countries for combat the malaria issue, it is reasonable since in US, you don't need DDT anymore, unless mosquito population is out of control and skyrocket of mosquito related disease like malaria or west nile virus.

We have no control on African countries for use DDT since it is their government decision to legalize of DDT or not.

THE DDT BAN TURNS 30 — Millions Dead of Malaria Because of Ban, More Deaths Likely > Health Issues > ACSH

This DDT ban is like the same irresponsible action on the claim that global warming (as caused by humans) caused Earth to warm up. All without evidence or merits of such to enact such extreme, extreme measures. In the case of DDT, the effects were that many millions died of malaria when it was mostly preventable through the use of DDT, a cheap and very effective insect repellant and insecticide against mosquitoes carrying the deadly Malaria virus.

I wish they would bring DDT back because last January, I was a victim of bed bugs and it was a horrible 4 months trying to get rid of them. That's why they are coming back after being gone for 50 plus years.
