I also support a personal use vice tax. A higher tax on smoking, drinking and gambling. Not to curb those activities but to reduce the burdens caused by said activities.

The Native Americans already tax gambling. Many of their casinos charge .50 per hand to play table games. Think how much we would make if we did the same at all casinos. And it wouldn't affect the amount played one bit.

ah... the sin tax

I think that progressive tax is ok if it is low but for use 40% on high income is too much, it supposed to be less than 30% like 20%.

I'm favor on tax cut for any people who own business, even rich people.

I support progressive tax, not flat tax like it has been in America for over hundred years.

What's any benefit about put IRS out of business?

See? I know you won't answer about your views on GLBT rights.

A progressive tax isn't fair to all. I posted this in another thread too but there are 70 people here in North Texas that are layed off right now because me and two of my golf buddies are fed up with paying ridiculous taxes. I doubt we were alone. When things aren't fair for all the system fails. The economy shrinks and jobs disappear. I have told many in here I loved what I did for a living. It was about as much fun as playing golf and it was more rewarding. But it just wasn't worth it anymore.

Progressive tax is taxed that based on how much income are you earning, there's tax bracket and if you think it is too much so you supposed to file to get tax return.

It seems like you want have same tax rate as low income that applies for rich people? If you make too much money so you need pay more taxes.

It was probably democrat or republican has messed the progressive tax.

I also wouldn't mind seeing a national fine for DWIs and alcohol related accidents on interstate highways.

This thinking is why I got rid of my business. Now I pay $0 in income tax.

Oh ok, progressive tax would work if well structured and balanced but both of democrat and republican has changed the progressive tax in years, that how got messed up.

For flat tax, many low income and middle class would say about not fair for rich people to have more money and pay less tax as them does.

Thats why the flat tax had the first 20,000 exempt

Let me do the math. For individuals.

income tax paid % paid
15,000 $0 0
25,000 $900 3.6
50,000 $5400 10.8
250,000 $41,400 16,5
1,000,000 $176,400 17.64

You means federal tax?

Don't know that since federal tax is complicated for me to know.

I'm favor in lower taxes but I'm against on national sale tax that what Huckabee want.

Either of progressive or flat tax is better.

I wonder where they got that information? Probably from Fox themselves.

"Excuse me Fox, could you tell me which is the most trusted source in news?"

"Oh, that would be us."

"Really? Wow, that's great. Thanks!"

The people voted. Not Foxnews.

from OP
A Public Policy Polling nationwide survey of 1,151 registered voters Jan. 18-19 found that 49 percent of Americans trusted Fox News, 10 percentage points more than any other network.

Thirty-seven percent said they didn’t trust Fox, also the lowest level of distrust that any of the networks recorded.

There was a strong partisan split among those who said they trusted Fox — with 74 percent of Republicans saying they trusted the network, while only 30 percent of Democrats said they did.

CNN was the second-most-trusted network, getting the trust of 39 percent of those polled. Forty-one percent said they didn’t trust CNN.

I love how Sean Hannity said, "I don't understand how Obama created millions of jobs when we're in 10% unemployment rate?"

It shows how biased he is.. he is framing a question as if Obama did absolutely nothing. If it wasn't for stimulus, all those millions of jobs would have NOT been created but it doesn't matter - they would do ANYTHING to destroy Obama.

Progressive tax is actually the most fair system.

Seriously, if you make a billion a year, do you actually think a 50% tax would hurt you? You'd still have $500,000,000 left!

And what can $500,000,000 a year afford? Pretty a lot.
