1959 Chevy vs 2009 Chevy

Now..fast forward to 2059. Can you imagine if the IIHS crashed the 1959 Chevy, the 2009 Malibu AND the 2059 Chevy Volt all together?

I would say the 2059 Volt will win cause of advanced safety technology like foam airbags, stronger steel, better designed crumple zones.

It may be possible in 2059, but the IIHS would have to use a mint condition 1959 Chevy Impala 409 coupe cuz the BelAirs may be gooone by 2059. The 2009 Malibu's dime-a-dozen cuz they made a lot alike except for the 1LS, 1LT and the 1LTZ trims that's it.

i'm 85% sure that the 2059 model will have an feature that stops the car in an accident in to avoid any further collision, you know what I mean? Where the impact takes over in action to stop the car at once.

Man, ya reminded me why I predicted the securefoam airbags with this clip. That is one of my favorite movies :)

Oh BTW If the crash between all 3 cars were held, the IIHS could do better by building a 1959 Chevy from scratch with GM blueprints so the originals could be preserved for the public to see what life in 1959 was like.
 
Wouldn't the foam suffocate someone when they can't breath? :P

I'm sure it's breathable and it will be designed to be easily breakable on your own after the impact.
