Buried In His Car

I could almost swear that the driver's side window was still rolled down. Did I not see that correctly?

Here's what funeral directors don't want you to know:

Federal Trade Commission's 1994 ruling prohibits funeral homes from resisting in any way a family's desire to purchase caskets and other products from alternative suppliers. Funeral homes can no longer require the purchase of merchandise as a requisite for providing death care services. Charging "casket handling fees" or in any manner discouraging a customer from purchasing products elsewhere is illegal.

That's why you can buy caskets from Costco now. Or make your own.

To build your own casket, check my posting #17

Real shame to see Pontiac car go waste. It would fetch lot of money for his kins. Pontiac brand was phrased out (in 2010) because of General Motors' business restructure months ago.

He is not only one buried in his own vehicle. Ancient Kings of Egypt had their vessels and chariots buried in their final resting place at Valley of the Kings. Other countries does that in ancient time too. Personal horses was found in one of king's tomb at Asia.

That body in car reminded me of myth which Mythbusters did in seasons ago.

That Pontiac would fare worse 50 years than when the City of Tulsa dug up their buried 1957 Plymouth and it turned out to be a bucket of rusty bits.

If someone dug up the Pontiac 50 years later, there would be practically nothing left of the car especially when there's no vault surrounding it.

That aint just the guy getting buried in his own car. 10 years ago a woman was buried in her 1962 Corvair

A Rose in Corvair Heaven

Damned they had to cut the Corvair up a bit just to make it fit in the grave, when the Pontiac just had its motor, tranny, gas tank and tires taken out.

I would love that!

But, seriously, nah, I wouldn't want to be buried in such thing like this.

As for this, it is eccentric but then again, it's no surprise that there are some people who likes to do some eccentric things.

This seems like the Egyptian idea to bring your items with you to the grave so they can be with you in the next world...

My uncle had to be buried with a 40oz bottle of beer

My Ex want to be buried with an AC/DC shirt, a bong, pot, a lighter and a Jimi Hendrix cassette

my close friend died at age 26. His favorite beer was molson golden. He was buried with 6 packs of beer in his casket along with his favorite sports cap, sport uniform and some more sport stuffs.

so when a deaf person is getting buried, will the sign language interpreter go too?

When all my days are over,
and the world has come to pass.
I'm hoping they'll bury me upside down,
and the world can kiss my ass.

My friend who's parent died, his Father wore KC Chief football jersey shirt during wake and was buried with it and his Mom wore Elvis "stamp" T-shirt during wake and buried with it too. I thought it was very respectful of him because he knew his parents favorite. It's different than seeing usual dress worn on dead person.. It created respect and positive mood and to everyone who visited.
