Why do I sign in my dreams??

Hmmmm

Same as why do people talk in their sleep; same thing.

Someone been tell me I mumble while dreaming in sleep instead sign language. Obviously, I ain't born as deaf.

I do dream that I sign too, sometimes people told me they saw me signing while sleep hehe :)

I think it depends on how comfortable you are signing or communicating.

I remember asking questions similar to this some time ago.

Some people said this:
A. They speak in their sleep, and they can hear the people speak.
B. They sign in their sleep, others sign to them
C. They communicate telepathically

Save you the trouble of waiting for them to reply, you can see their posts here :P

The weird thing is I never signed in my dreams even through I'm deaf. :hmm:

Just recently, I had a dream where I was signing to people. :)

The answer to that, Naisho seems to have some good answers.

I know but I'm oral most of the time so why would I change communication methods in my dreams?

Does that mean you don't know sign language but dream of signing like talking to a person? This is weird. I have never that of that way and Naisho made a lot of sense like ESP. I get weird dreams but I don't remember any of the dreams. One question: Are you learning to sign ASL? If yes, then you are signing in your dreams. You just have to let the dreams go with the flow in your mind while sleeping. Sometimes it is hard to read the dreams of why you are dreaming. :cool2:

Most of my dreams, seems like I just know what is being said. Must be the telepathy option.

I DO know sign but my main method is talking and not sign

I am still learning ASL, but I don't sign in my dreams, but my daughter and husband tell me that while I am asleep, I will have an ASL conversation between my left and right hand. I think it's amazing what your subconcious can do when you are not aware.

I sign in my dreams, but never I manifest that in real life. However I sleep-talk if I fall sleep with my hearing aids while watching TV.

I used to get in trouble a lot with my dorm-mates and my roommates because they wouldn't know if I was sleeping or if am awake and I would actually hold full conversations with them without being aware of it.

I think it is normal for people dreams about how people talk in different languages and sign languages. It's not that bad.

I was dreamed about a fairy could sign a few times. :P

I've been told that I sometimes cuss and yell while sleeping....and my legs moving as if I'm trying to run or something.....(I could always tell the next morning, because both my legs would be sore from "running/moving" all night). Never signed while sleeping that I know of. I wouldn't worry too much about it, as for the reason you sign in ur sleep, maybe ur just practicing ur signing....and it was on ur mind before going to bed.....I try (as per what the doctor suggested) to really relax and get the days events off my mind.....chill....If my days events were dramatic/drama...I would not try to go to sleep until I passed out...knowing I couldn't sleep, and the sleeping problem would surface.
