That does not mean he does not know a lot about it, having grown up with Korean parents.

No, but it means that he is not a Korean, he is an American.

And I stand by my statement. The battle between North Korea and South Korea continues to this day, and North Korea has become an even greater threat to the U.S.

What mission might that be? I haven't been aware of any instances where they have invaded and occupied the U.S. militarily in an attempt to convert us to their political system.

Jihad.

And you missed 9/11?

What? You couldn't immigrate without the Korean War?

And you are second generation. You are an American, not a Korean. You simply have Korean ethnicity.

but I was born in Korea. ever seen any North Korean immigrant around? The only way to do that is to sneak into China and hope for the best. Many have been caught and shot (or sentenced to lifetime of hard labor including families associated with them).

My grandfather was the highest-ranking government official for Korea and Japan (at that time Korea was one country) - probably why politic is in my blood . He received the first-hand news about communism party launching war on South. That was when he packed up and left with the family (my father) to escape to South. I actually have the original document of land deed - a really huge acres of land in North Korea. Chance is - we'll never get it back even if NK and SK reunited. oh well.

Jihad has been a military presence and occupation in the U.S.? And 911 was an attack, not an occupation. In case you forgot, the attackers were killed.

Human rights and freedom are a concept of democracy.

also free election and free speech. Free election is the major part of democracy - something that they are not ready for. Human Rights and Freedom are just a small step to a form of democracy. Many countries have different form of democracy.

Surely - the form of democracy can be revised to their own liking.

That was the purpose. But if you want to split hairs due to your need to be right, I will leave you to it.

Like I said, it was a civil war. Not a direct threat to the U.S. Thanks for confirming that.

You were born in Korea? So you are a naturalized citizen?

You are now talking a World War, in which there was a direct and immediate threat to the U.S. Iran, Vietnam, and Korea were all civil wars, and do not, or did not pose a direct threat to the U.S.

But World War 1 posed no immediate and direct threat to USA.

That was the purpose. But if you want to split hairs due to your need to be right, I will leave you to it.

That is the purpose by your estimation. Jihad is still not a military and occupational force in the U.S. Can't say the same for the U.S. in middle Eastern countries.

yep. I thought you knew. I've mentioned this few times before. it's ok. I became naturalized few years ago. Again - thanks to U.S. intervention, I'm here :)

My entire families are grateful for U.S. intervention. Do you think we want to live like people in NK? good gracious

But World War 1 posed no immediate and direct threat to USA.

Sort of...due to the unauthorized German U-boats along the US East coast and the sinking of the Lusitania. Many Americans died on it so in a way there was an indirect threat to the USA during WWI.

Actually, it did. That is why it was called a World War.

yea.... just Europe. USA was not under attack. That's why we had Isolationism. We finally stepped in years later and we won. Because of U.S. intervention - the Europeans were spared of communism.

But wait. If your grandparents left Korea before the Korean War, that means at least one of your parents was in America. Did your family return to Korea before your birth?

I'm just confused about the chain of events and trying to clarify.

We were in immediate danger of attack. Not so with either Korea or Vietnam.

Exactly. Wars are not fought for no reason and they most certainly have a significant impact on the countries they involve.

Exactly. Threat of immediate danger.

lol that's a stretch. It's a british boat but yea it was instrumental in getting Americans involved.
