McCain: Obama needs to get tougher on Iran
Senator says U.S. should support Iranians against ‘oppressive’ regime

WASHINGTON - Sen. John McCain says the president isn't talking tough enough about the disputed presidential election in Iran.

The Arizona senator says President Barack Obama needs to speak out about what McCain calls Iran's "corrupt, flawed, sham of an election."

Obama's 2008 Republican opponent also tells NBC's TODAY show that the U.S. needs to support the Iranian people in their struggle against "an oppressive, repressive regime." McCain adds that Iran's people should not have to face four more years under Iran's hardline leader and the country's radical Muslim clerics.

Meanwhile, Indiana Sen. Richard Lugar tells CBS' "Early Show" it would be unwise for the United States to get any more involved than it is. He says the Iranians need to be allowed to work things out, because "when popular revolutions occur, they come right from the people."

wow It’s not very smart of McCain says this. I’m not surprised if McCain plan to attack Iran because I remember his own word “Bomb Bomb Bomb Iran”…. I’m glad that Americans made right decision for not vote him. *Phew*

Sorry McCain, Obama is right that we need to stay OUT of it and let the Iranians stand up for themselves.

McCain’s response is to jump right in and call the election a sham. This is a bad move
.

Where does McCain said bomb, bomb, bomb in Iran or start war with Iran? It has nothing on your paragraph and stop to make up any stories.

It was a joke he made a few years ago to a veterans organization. Someone asked him what to do with Iran and he said "You know that old song, Barbara Ann" and he started singing "bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb iran" to the melody of Barbara Ann (an old Beach Boys song from the 60s). It was a dumb joke and had nothing to do with his actual foreign policy approach to Iran.

I want to suggest you to type "McCain and bomb bomb bomb Iran" in google first before jump on me. I can say what I remember his own word here.

The video of him with his own word. This video was being posted in several threads during Election 2008. I thought you are aware of it. I´m surprised you are not.

The reason more people don't know about it is because it was a small meaningless thing that was blown out of proportion by some who simply don't like McCain. He was no more serious than Obama was when he jokingly threatened the leaders of Arizona State University with a tax audit.

Who cares? darkdog already explain it and it was dirty political joke.

:ty: for confirm that you also remember too.

To me, it´s not funny but very stupid and bad joke. I am glad that Obama knocked him in Election 2008 for his song in 2007.

Why he took Barbara Ann´s song for? McCain SMILES as he sings this song is what really disturbs me and people.

There's heavily anti-America in Iran, it's fair for us to provoke against them if we want too.

Obama can lead this country without any input from McCain.

Yes, I am surprise that you are not aware of McCain´s song.

Blame you? Huh? I respectfully asking you to check with google first or ask me for source if you are not aware of McCain´s behavior instead of accuse me for make up the stories.

Obama can lead this country without any input from McCain.

but he's getting lot of inputs from people who worked for Bush Administration :hmm:

It´s bad. If McCain want to treat himself as a respectful and mature adult then ignore them. Is it not hard to ignore Iranian´s anti-american remark?

What McCain did made himself look fool and bad. Look at his own word to tell Obama to get tough on Iran.

but every single administration has criticized Iran for their anti-american hate and have long put a hardliner stance on Iran. McCain's not the only one.

because of that - Iran has never succeeded in creating a nuclear weapon. now.... Iran is just 3 years away from having a nuclear weapon capability.

There's over millions of protest in Iran and nothing could stop, only government from other countries could give extra assist or support with them if they are interested to see any change in Iran via protest or revolution, also right now, Obama admin does monitor their election and it said irregularity and it take more time when government could involve to give more assist with protest.

It's part of McCain's opinion to express about what happen in Iran, it doesn't start war or invade their country, it's related about Soviet invasion of Afghan in 1979 and US has gave alot of assist to Islamist group to defeat Soviet but US doesn't get in military action against USSR or communist party of Afghan.

Anti-America does threat to our country, your comment about ignore is strictly unacceptable and I wouldn't want improve the relation with Iran until Iran government has stop issue any anti-America stuff or provoke against US or some other countries.

Maybe it was a dumb joke, but that doesn't mean he would just go in and attack Iran for no reason. It was just him messing around with a bunch of veterans.

Why he took Barbara Ann´s song for? McCain SMILES as he sings this song is what really disturbs me and people.
Originally, it was a parody that a group did in 1980 during the Iran hostage crisis. It got a lot of radio play back then. They used Barbara Ann because it fits well. In Barbara Ann, it goes "Ba Ba Ba Ba Barbara Ann". The parody is "Bomb Bomb Bomb Bomb Bomb Iran". It fits the rhythm and rhymes.

The reason McCain was smiling is because he was joking. It's a common thing for people to do when they're joking around.

The difference is that McCain isn't part of the Bush Administration. :cool2:

what do you suppose what McCain has been doing since he started his political career as Congressman and Senator? Hint - Reagan Administration

comparing McCain's experience and background to Obama.... methinks McCain's "advice" is worth :2c:

:cool2:
