True. But middle eastern countries are a whole 'nuther issue, because their culture in no way resembles Western culture. Politics and culture go hand in hand.

Japan is more of a threat to the U.S. technologically than ever before. Germany is now an ally, but it certainly didn't happen immediately after WWII.

You are now talking a World War, in which there was a direct and immediate threat to the U.S. Iran, Vietnam, and Korea were all civil wars, and do not, or did not pose a direct threat to the U.S.

I am all for not meddling in but if a country has a leader who is a dictator and the citizens do not want to live under that leader's regime so they try to fight back only to get killed making the revolution impossible. I think other countries should step in and intervere...however, I dont think other countries should force their own policies.

Why isnt the UN stepping in...why just USA only? Forgive me if I am a little ignorant on this subject.

yes you're right. I have criticized our American approach to Middle Eastern issue last year or so. That's why Iraq and Afghanistan Wars are still waging on. They are simply not ready for ideal of democracy but we will continue to raise issue with their human rights and freedom.

Simply look at Iran's handling of protests. You bet your ass that we will speak loudly against their mistreatment and butchering.

What mission might that be? I haven't been aware of any instances where they have invaded and occupied the U.S. militarily in an attempt to convert us to their political system.
