Yikes! What's wrong with this woman? I find this very disturbin' for puttin' a fetus in the fridge. It's sooo sad to see babies/children suffer for no apparently reason. That's abuse! I am glad they send her to the slammer.
Clearly you do not know anything about stillborn fetuses. "Stillborn" means the fetus or the baby died while still in the mother's uterus, and the mother (a mother in general, no one in specific) either went into labor and gave birth to the already dead baby or she had an abortion performed to have the already dead fetus removed from her uterus in order to avoid very
grave medical consequences of not removing a dead fetus from the mother's body.
If the fetus or the baby was already dead, how does it suffer? A dead fetus or body cannot feel pain, because the brain is DEAD. It simply died inside her body. That does happen.
Also, the article mentioned that the fetus was placed in a baby wipe box (used for cleaning up and changing diapers on babies). That suggests that the fetus was very small, due to the size of a standard baby wipe box, so the woman couldn't have been too far along. I don't know how many weeks a fetus of this size would be, though, but it is VERY small and probably not even viable if the woman went into premature labor. According to one medical publication article I just read, the earliest a fetus could be viable is at around 22 weeks or so, possible more.
When is a fetus viable?
Would you condemn a woman who was pregnant for about 2 or 3 months or even more and she went to have a ultrasound done either because it was a routine appointment or because she went to the ER due to pain in her belly and then was told by doctors that her baby had died inside her, and she was told that she either has to have an abortion performed or she has to have labor induced to expel the dead fetus from her body in order to avoid infection and other dangerous things that could happen if she kept the dead fetus inside her body? If you say yes, then you have no heart, and I feel sorry for you.
I have a friend who was in this situation years ago, and it was very ROUGH on her. She went into very PAINFUL labor to expel the fetus, and that was the worst thing ever for her, and it was very graphic. She now wishes she had the doctors perform an abortion instead, because it would be less traumatizing and less painful for her to have an abortion done than to actually go into PAINFUL labor and give birth to a dead fetus that she actually saw with her own eyes.
It's something I would never wish on an enemy, ever.
Also, my sister had a miscarriage about 4 years ago and the fetus died inside her while she was around 6 weeks pregnant. Are you going to condemn my sister for that? When my sister found out she was pregnant at 4 weeks she was so excited, she told me that I was going to be an aunt. I got excited. Two weeks later she told me the fetus died. I was so sad and upset. It's something I would never wish on anyone, ever.
You just don't understand the lesser of the two evils. You're against abortion.
Would you want abortions to be outlawed, and go back to how it used to be before abortions was made legal? With women seeking unqualified doctors or "so-called" doctors who would perform illegal abortions in the women's homes, and the women suffered so many grave consequences of the illegal botched abortions, ranging from infections to hemorrhaging to death? Do you want that to happen again? Making abortions legal was the best thing that ever happened to women everywhere in the USA because it means that women can now seek safe legal abortions done in clean sterile clinics with highly qualified doctors who knows how to perform very safe appropriate abortions using proper equipment and knows how to prevent grave medical consequences by not doing the abortions improperly with improper tools. It means that much fewer women dies from abortions, and if they died from them, it is usually the result of a BOTCHED abortion that was performed inappropriately/improperly. But for the most part, they are quite safe, with less adverse effects. The women can go home the same day, get strong pain medications, stay in bed and rest, and be up and around in a week or so. If it was done the way it was before it was legal, the women ended up in extreme pain, with raging infections, and uncontrolled bleeding, and the women knew that if they dared to go to the ER to stop the bleeding they would be reported to the police for having an illegal abortion done, and they could go to jail after being treated in the hospital, if they do make it. Many women died because they were afraid of being thrown in jails.
If you feel that abortion is wrong, that's fine. You are 100% entitled to your opinion. But you need to see that having LEGAL, CLEAN, SAFE abortions done in STERILE, CLEAN, LEGAL abortion clinics employed with highly QUALIFIED DOCTORS who actually have gone to MEDICAL SCHOOLS and have LEARNED how to do SAFE ABORTIONS USING PROPER EQUIPMENT have better results and much, much, much fewer deaths in women who had safe legal abortions than when abortion were illegal back in the 1950s with many women who had unsafe and dangerous abortions by "so-called" doctors who either used coat hangers or other dirty and unsterilized tools to perform the abortions done on the kitchen tables, often resulting in very grave medical consequences and very often in DEATHS! Which one would you prefer? Be honest. Think about it. You don't have to think that abortions is not wrong - you can think it is wrong, that's fine. You just need to realize that LEGAL AND SAFE ABORTIONS DONE PROPERLY is the LESSER of the TWO EVILS. If you can't realize that, do you not have a heart and do you not care if those women suffered grave medical consequences and even deaths? If so, I feel very sad for you. I feel sorry for you.
Maria, I strongly suggest that you watch the movie "If these Walls Could Talk" (not the second movie - you need the first movie). It is a very educational movie that talks about abortion laws and abortions that were done in the 1950s, 1970s, and 1990s, and compares how illegal abortions affected women and how legal abortions benefited women. I strongly suggest that you watch the movie, please. Do yourself a favor and watch it. It will OPEN your EYES.
