(scratches head)

Most pro lifers make an exception when a woman's health is in any REAL danger. Even Sarah Palin wasn't planning to make Abortion illigal in those situations.

I don't think being pro life makes me a coward. Quite the contrary it takes courage to speak as you find when everyone is just going to verbally tear you to shreads when you express your opinion and now it seems in some countries you may even end in jail. (very sad)

And its very easy to speak until you find yourself in the position of having to back up your words with very real and concrete action.

And, to add the dose, the Jewish doctor Israel Nisan, a pro-choice gyn, had received in I-don't-remember-the-date threats of death from pro-life group, he has been told that he was doing a crime against humanity (if I remember well, this was a long time ago).... The pro-life groups are, for me, the most abject people. I truely hate them, because they are antisemitic too.

Yes, their whole platform is built on contradiction.

If a woman who is about to go and get a legal procedure that is nobody else's business shouldn't be harrassed nor threatened. People who harrass or threaten others shud go to jail. It is nobody's business what others' do in their lives. If one doesn't agree with abortion, keep it to themsleves but do not harass nor threaten others.

Can you imagine what would happen if people who disagree with CIs were to stand outside a CI clinic and try to prevent patients from going in? That would be another story, now wouldn't it? Everyone here would speak out against that.

Right...

In this country, people have the right to make whatever choices in their lives as long as it is legal and doesnt negatively impact others. For others to harrass or threaten people to prevent from making the choices for themselves is just criminal.

If one doent like the choices other make, they are free to make different choices for themsleves. That's called the freedom of having choices. :)

To YOU, yea -- but to ME, no.

sorry but your reasons are coward to me. and very lazy as well. It's full of contradictions, hyperbole, and hypocrisy. If you can actually come up with something substantial other than sob story... I would actually listen to you and debate with you with esteemed respect.

1. You did not bother reading full detail of Roe v. Wade.
2. You did not bother reading the medical documentations & cases.
3. You did not bother at all to get yourself acquainted with intellectual materials at your disposal.
Remember - if you cannot convince Supreme Court, HOW CAN YOU CONVINCE US? Abortion was once ILLEGAL for centuries. How do you think why Supreme Court finally agreed to pro-choicers' argument just 36 years ago? because it makes sense and yours doesn't. We did our homework. now do your homework. :cool2:

Like I said before - there are MANY MANY doctors who are STRONGLY against abortion. Why not listen to them and use that as a source for your argument? I'll give you a hint for starter. Doctors who are against abortion is because they stand by their Hippocratic Oath. :cool2:

Good Day, Maria & Dreama

I am sorry that I didn't reply you two last night, Shel90 and Byrdie714. I was dead tired after getting home so late and talking to my brother over the phone. Also, I could not find my replies to you.
I apologize!

OK, so, anyways, I said I don't believe in abortion because I think it's not right to have the healthy fetus aborted. I called it "murder" but I know that I am not allowed to talk about my religion in here.
So, why not putting the teenager's baby up for adoption. The parents who are unable to have children. I am sure many parents need a baby so badly. Also, you are right, Shel that I can not tell them what to do but it's their choice.

It is not just teenagers who get abortions...married and older people do. Everyone is different and what they decide is their own personal and private decision . If one decides to abort rather than give up for adoption, it is none of my business. I wont interfere if it doesnt directly affect me.

What I hate is people who interfere to the point of harrassing or threatening them about something that has nothing to do with them in the first place.

I agree. I forgot to add that their parents, grandparents or other relatives should support their daughter whether she needs to keep her baby or not but I know that I hate to see them to interfere her personal life if she is over 18 years but under 18, that is a different story. Also, you know how crazy people they are. They are harassing or threatening them for no reason or some reasons, if you know what I am saying.

That's okay for getting back to us today! I can understand that as it happens to me from time to time.

I don't think you have really answered my question as my question was in regards to women that have terminal illnesses such as HIV/AIDS, TB, etc, that can easily transmit the virus to the baby.

Remember in some countries the medical care is sorely lacking compared to the United States. That is why abortion may be a medical necessity. Afterall if the HIV + mother is getting inadequate health care and not on medications--why continue the cycle of HIV to the next generation?

Not only, but I add that "crime against humanity" has been defined by the Nuremberg (don't know if it's the correct spelling in English) court in 1945, and doesn't include abortion, since abortion is an individual measure and crime against humanity a collective one.

Also, I hate pro-life because of their antisemitism. Simone Veil has lost all her family at the lager (German word for death camp, like Auswich, where she was), and a pro-life group (I don't remember which one) has made a caricature with her stretching Hitler's hand !! This is really disgusting !! (I can't tolerate this since I am Jewish myself)

If any women whoever has healthy newborn and decide to want abortion for no reason, I couldn't much to do for her but just express my concern regards to woman's decision.

It's sad, indeed for some women whoever said no reason for abortion.

As my mother was Jewish and African American, I can certainly understand your objections!

:) Thanks Jillo to understand that :)

OT : Is she still alive ? Did she educate you as a Jewish or as an African American ?

No, she died about 5 years ago. Actually, she made sure that we were exposed to both. My father was German/Irish, and Catholic, so we had quite a multicultural education growing up!:P

It makes for an interesting upbringing, and a wider world view, doesn't it?
