All good points.
And unlike Bush, Ayers wasn't indirectly responsible for the deaths of millions of Iraqis and Afghanis as the result of two misguided wars.
No comparison.
The only reason he is free is because of a technicality- the evidence was improperly gathered and thrown out. Ayers himself admitted to that- "Guilty as hell. Free as a bird. America is a great country." He deserves his rights as a free citizen, but that doesn't mean we have to ignore what he did.Not according to the legal system, he didn't. He was never convicted of anything, only accused. Unfortunately, some appear to believe that accusation and conviction are the same thing around here.
He has also accomplished many postive things over the past 30 years. Funny how people ignore that, and concentrate on something that occurred 3 decades ago that he was never even found guilty of. All in a misquided attempt to discredit someone else.
Did you see how you agreed with jillio that accusation and conviction are not the same thing and then went off on Bush for things he has not been convicted of?All good points.

The guy is one bomb accident away from being a Timothy McVeigh at Ft. Dix and he remains unapologetic about it. He is a would-be mass murderer. The fact that he has any influence over young minds at all is disturbing. Perhaps that partially explains why education is a joke in this country.

No, I offered my help because you asked me to. The thread with the link was created FEW WEEKS before Obama won at election (Please check the date of my thread). Reba updated my thread with new article few days ago over him and Canada issue which is not relate my link of first thread. You asked me for link of my first thread because the article in first link disappeared. I pasted the exact title of my thread to ask google for you because you asked me to .
I don't mean "bomb accident" in the abstract. I'm referring to a real bomb accident- the one that accidentally blew up a townhouse in Greenwich Village in 1970. It killed three members of the Weather Underground including Ayers' then-girlfriend. It was designed to send nails flying everywhere and kill perhaps hundreds of people at a dance at Fort Dix. If the bomb hadn't exploded early and they were successful in their plans, he would have been a mass murderer.Ayers was not the leader of this country, nor was he elected by the American people as such.
We are all "would be mass murderers" given the proper circumstances. Can't convict someone for something that has a .1% possibility of happening at some time in the future.
Nor was I referring to a "bomb accident." But when you make up things that "might have" happened, rather than sticking to what actually did happen, you open yourself to all interpretations.I don't mean "bomb accident" in the abstract. I am aware he is not an elected representative. Rather, he is an education professor, and as such, he has some degree of influence over the way our children our taught. That's what I find disturbing.
Once again, what are you trying to suggest about Obama by bringing up Ayers?

I have read about people who voted for McCain make statements saying that Obama is a terrorist cuz of his association with people like Ayers and others. I dont see any mention of Obama associating with him.![]()
OK--30 years ago, in the American cultural context, individuals bombing other people or their property was unacceptable....And, when you make an assessment of something that occurred 30 years ago, you need to do so from a contextual, cultural perspective.
