A body remains might belong to Caylee Anthony's

What's really sad about this case is how our society is glued to this topic because the child is white.

If this child was "colored"--it wouldn't garner much media attention.

There is also a good chance, if she didn't kill her daughter, she knows who did, and is protecting that person out of fear for her own life. Once again, that doesn't justify her behavior, but it certainly doesn't make her guilty of having committed murder. Complicity, perhaps, or interfering with an investigation, but not murder. .
that would make momma anthony guilty as an "accessory to murder" or "accessory after the fact"...

:hmm: wonder if momma anothony would make a claim like that anyway. after all, her stories so far were B.S.

Absolutely, it would. That is what I meant by complicity.

I don't know if that is the case or not. Just suggesting possibilities for her deceptions. If she were trying to protect someone, she would not tell the police anything about the murder, either, for fear that the other person would somehow be implicated by the evidence. Women who attempt to protect their partners have been known to do such unreasonable (in our eyes, anyway) things. Especially if they also have a personality disorder.

I've considered the same thing.

what about jennifer hudson's ordeal?

That was several members of a relatively famous person's family. Had it not been for Hudson's fame, the case would not have gotten nearly the media attention it did, and certainly not a national coverage.

what about jennifer hudson's ordeal?

Jennifer Hudson's ordeal is that she had her mother, sibling and nephew that was murdered.

We are discussing one child.

My question to you now is this: do you know of any one child, that is a minority, that has garnered this much media attention???

 I love you emoticons! Where did you get it??

Goes to show where priorities lie I guess.

is the character neurotic(sp*) (the personality disorder or whatever the term). where if they continue telling the same lie to themselves and other, in that persons mind the fantasy is true?

sorry if that don't make much sense my pain meds are kickin' in :dizzy:

Unfortunately. I have been trying to think back, and I can come up with several white children who garnered this kind of attention, but really cannot think of a child of color that has.:hmm:

there was a national case back in 2002 in milwaukee about alexis patterson, an african-american girl. during the time she was actively being searched for, it was debated whether or not coverage of her disappearance received more media coverage than what would be received from a family who had a caucasian child. it's an interesting debate to say the least and i do agree with byrdie that the color of a person's/child's skin/economic status does have some bearing on how much coverage we hear about a given case.

Thanks for the correction, Hear Again. I simply do not remember hearing about this case.

I remember something vaguely from Chicago in the 1970's and can't recall if it was the Tylenol scare or an individual kidnapping African American children......

you're welcome. the only reason i know it was televised nationally was because there was a huge debate about it locally here on the news. if it weren't for that discussion, i wouldn't have had any idea the case had gone national.

It doesn't make any differences to me, what color the child is. I don't understand why people just love to play the racism cards. I think the only reason this case got so much attention because there are so many lies in this case and it's true there are so many lies.

Its okay. I'm used to dealing with goofy people! j/k

No, the person that truly believes their own lies is delusional. And, congratulations..the spelling of neurotic is correct, pain meds or no!

I was referring more to a personality disorder that makes an individual overly dependent on others for a sense of self, and is easily led and manipulated into believing that they are doing the right thing despite the fact that they know it is wrong. A partner could easily talk someone like this into covering up for them.
