Does it keep you awake? I'v always wondered what it is like to hear at night time just before going to sleep. I could try and keep my implant on but it is not the same.

I have a severe-profound loss so I cannot hear anything at all at night time

Also tell me what hearing loss you have if you dont mind

I can wake up with noises such as banging, but if someone is cutting the grass at 6 am I wouldn't be able to hear it.

Some mornings when I don't have to get up for work or uni I've slept until 11.00am, because I can't hear anyone else getting up, or anything else, and if no one wakes me I just keep sleeping!

I can't sleep with a clock ticking, drives me crazy.

I also have a hamster who I put in the closet at night since his wheel makes noise. ;) (I also like to have a fan running at night).

I am able to hear some sort of noises at night times.

More recently, my next-door neighbour with the annoying fire siren (he is a volunteer firefighter.) Apparently, he or his family decided it is so cute to play the fire siren all the times. I hope someone in this neighbourhood calls on him soon.

I thought so, because I never been told that a deaf person would be able to hear someone snoring unless they have a cochlear implant, nor is hard of hearing.

well, i'm pretty sure if a deaf person lived in my house they would still know... vibrations... but nothing compared to my great uncle snores, thats like a freggin hurricane.

what time is it in america?

To make it easier for you to know what time it is here in the United States... go to google.com and type "time in United States" (without quotes). :) You can do this with elsewhere in the world.

in my better hearing days (pre-hearing aids), i could hear all kinds of noises including car horns, motorcycles (i HATE that sound!), traffic, car alarms, firecrackers being set off around the 4th of july, dogs barking, lawn mower or leaf blower at 6 a.m., children laughing and playing outdoors, loud car stereos blasting music, car tires "popping" after hitting a pothole and my phone ringing.
now that i have ci's, i'm completely deaf and can get a good night's sleep. :D

I went camping with my family once, we didn't know there was an all night rock concert at the local sports stadium and I was the only one to get a good nights sleep.
