i knew this was going to happen. :mad2: it looks like obama won't have to worry about withdrawing our troops until his third year in office provided that the u.s. and iraq don't sign *another* security pact. it's time for our troops to come home already!! :mad2:

As much as I would like for them to come home now, I think it'll be a mistake to leave now. I'm glad to see that they are trying to do right thing instead of making a mistake just cause of haste.

It is same deal that was signed by Iraqi cabinet and just recently approved by Iraq Parliament...

still withdrawing from iraqi cities by June 2009 then full withdraw out of Iraq by 2011

see this thread: http://www.alldeaf.com/war-political-news/59013-june-30-2009-a.html

and here's better article;
The security deal - The Boston Globe

Iraqis OK 3-year troop withdrawal pact - The Boston Globe

The Real News Network - Iraq parliament delays US security pact

i'm glad to hear that. it's about time we start withdrawing our troops.

i disagree. the longer we stay there, the less likely it is that we'll ever leave.

I think he was means about glad for troopers to stay for 3 years instead of leaving now, even he said leaving now would be mistake.

I have mixed feeling with that, 3 years is good enough and won't be very longer.

yes, i know what he meant. all i'm saying is that i think it's time for our troops to come home. by the time 3 years is up, the next thing you know, we have another security pact for another 3 years, etc. when will it ever end?

Why would it be a mistake to leave now? Terrorists problem will still exist no matter what we do, I don't think it'll ever end.

Yeah thats true! unfortunately they wanted to see that what happen in their future is fateful.

Since US troops are in Iraq, why didn't deaf people take advantage to find jobs?

I agree.

terrorism is never going to come to an end, so why not bring our troops home? keeping them in iraq is only costing us more precious lives.

Simple: stability for the Iraqi's to take faith in their government and security forces.

that will never happen. iraq and democracy are two words that don't belong in the same sentence. democracy will *never* work in iraq. it's a shame that thousands of men and women are losing their lives because of a president who thinks he can make democracy work in a terror stricken country. the middle east has *always* been a hotbed of conflict and george w. bush isn't going to change that. not now, not ever.

Did they or didn't they have free elections with over 90% electing their government?

Lot more than we do here......

not true. for the 2000, 2004 and 2008 elections there was record voter turnout here in the u.s.

iraq may have had free elections, but that hasn't solved the problem of terrorism.

That's right, We can not control their behavior, and I don't trust them to stop terrorizing us either.

neither do i. iraqis don't know or appreciate the definition of freedom.
