I have same problem before with Vista on my PC, it was virus or trojans but did you see any mess up the programs on desktop?

I tried put "AVG" on google and clicked AVG website then it went to health beauty website, I was like WTF and many programs went messed up then I decided to reformat the HDD and clean install of XP.

Yep. I notice it at begin where login screen slow down and sometime freeze... BTW I'm running XP SP2.

*sigh*....I know, Jacob. My computer is dying. I don't have a money to buy a new PC right now.

Nah, it's ok. I want to fix my PC quickly than buying new PC. Question: Foxrac, do you think I need to format my HDD for safe reason?

chances are, you're infected, and to really get rid of every bastards lurking in your hdd before you even start trying to install a fresh windows (or whatever) , do the dban. download this tiny peice of military hard-drive wiper and kill everything on that harddrive. BUT backup anything what you want to keep first !!before you use dban. dban is powerful, no shit.

Yup, if OS screw up then need reformat it and clean install OS, just need find recovery CD.

You can backup if you needed but some viruses could be hidden when you backup, just be careful.
