Vending Machine Craze

I was in Japan once, and :shock: Vending Machine are EVERYWHERE!!! Like if you walk a block away from your home, you will find the vending machine already. I remember I don't even feel like I need to go to the store to wait in the line just for a pack of cigarette and a drink. In the note, I was in Tokyo, I am not sure if all of the Japan are same, but I've heard that Japan have the most of the vending machines in the world.

Japan is really an technology lover, simply said! :)

You're right.

I read an article a few years ago talking about how Japan is known for constantly trying new things... experimenting with everything.

That's why you can find weird stuff like cucumber soda or egg soda. :eek:

I think they experiment with hundreds of different sodas each year. I guess you'll never grow tired of the same drink because it won't be there next month. ;)

Interestingly, I remember when I was little, I have always seen a lot of cigarette vending machines. You don't see that here anymore.

They have been banned a long time ago due to underage consumers using them to get cigaretts illegally.

Yep, That is correct. I was just thinking about that when I saw the cigarette vending machine on the website that Vampy provided. :)
 
Not too surprised about that as its usually in movies and cartoons where they show vending machines. Itll save time just pluck in change and go.

I remember seeing them everywhere. I don't really remember when it stopped. :dunno:

I agree... that would be nice.

But then again, it would make it easy for minors to buy some. :(

Also, the price would be pretty high.

Most bars charge $3 to $4 for a bottle of beer and I can get a 6-pack of the same beer for $6 to $7. ;)
