PETA Wants Higher Insurance for Meat Eaters

Agreed.

It's not like the PETA/Health Insurance will be keeping track of what we eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner and for snacks. If they were to do that, It would be highly impossible for them to hire every shadows or doubles to follow you everywhere to see what you eat or whatever it is.

According to the article -

How is it exactly that the vegetarians have stronger immune system? I don't see any difference between these meat eaters and vegetarians having their immune system being solid.

I agree as well, I've known about the tomato scare last year, vegetables can also harbor these bugs!

I agree also. Its not just meat. Vegetables most certainly can also be contaminated by E.coli.

I have read some articles about eating good vegetables and vitamins to boost their immune systems for years. I do not believe PETA that it wants to change the insurance policy because it does not make a sense. No way. Maybe, the FDA wants to convince people how bad the PETA is. It is a just dirty game in the business.

I am a vegetarian. I believe that PETA should not be involved unless something goes bad such from slaughterhouses or abusing animals, etc.
The farmers should know better that the e.coli might come from Canada geese's poops on the vegetable plants or some farmers did not wash their hands after they finished in the bathroom. Who knows.

That would be crazy, but I don't eat the meat much so I don't care

Sure, the vegetables have vitamins in it and it helps our immune system but my point is, the meat itself does have protein in it too. There's no difference between these two.

You're saying the FDA wants to convince people to think how bad the PETA is? I'm sorry, I disagree respectfully. PETA has proven themselves over the years that they have always came up with a half-baked idea only to make themselves look worse. More than half of the time, their wild accusations are pointless.

wow, I was a vegetarian for two months and I was pretty f*^$ed up. My oldest sister and my mother are vegaetarian for many years and now she has borderline diabetic and my mother is diabetic just alike me. Being a vegeatarian does not make you stay healthy. We need meats for protein to feed brain which I need it for my case. This PETA are not making any sense to me.

Yep. Meats are the major reason why we evolved to be on the top of food chain.

PETA is just attention whore

Its all a bunch of hooey. People need a well balanced diet to be healthy. There is no conspiracy on the part of the FDA at all. The "dirty game" is coming from PETA themselves. The tactics they imploy are outrageous at best and they need to stop the nonsense. Their credibility is ZERO and they pretty much know it, yet they won't stop. Personally, I'm glad the tactics they use are whacked out. Then, people won't listen to them and will continue to eat a well balanced diet of grains, fruits, vegetables, dairy, and, meat.

Higher insurance? Isnt everything costly already?

peta is a prosuition busniess lol!

no wonder peta is making a plm around those issue or anything..

someone saying that they are veterigan and got disbetic.. , ok well it is depend how much you eat those that has sugar.. but must look at glymetic ( both GL and GI). Both GL and GI are low, then it great! if both are high, forget it! too much sugar.. end up sick for short time or feel upside down your stomach or anyting .. whatever.. if one is high on GL or GI, then you would end up that you feel like " i wanna go nap" !!

You can eat anything you want. I have been a vegetarian for 20 years, and my health is good. The protein is very important for everyone. This is why I choose two things that I accept are fishes and eggs. They have good proteins. I refused to eat the meats that come from cows and pigs because I sympathize them. Fish is also meat, but it contains Omega-3 that I need. In real fact, veggie fake meats also contain proteins.

Actually, I checked on snopes.com to verify the story about the higher insurance for meat eaters. The snopes cannot find it in the databank. This article is a false story. The author must have made up her story to write it. tsk tsk tsk.

You should have gone straight to the source instead of Snopes.com.

I checked the PETA website itself. The story is valid.

Read below:

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA): The animal rights organization

Oh boy. I think I believe it now, but the germs are everywhere included any foods and vegetables no matter what. I am sure that all insurance companies would never lower a price to anyone.

A well balanced diet contains sources of protein and calcium- which come from dairy and meat, as well as a million other equally rich sources.

Test any average joe on the street, vegetarian or not, and you will probably find them deficient in at least three things. It's not about what you can eat, it's about how you balance it, and on the american diet of takeout and microwave meals, there is no balance to be found- even among 'healthy' meet eaters.

I am a Vegan, and a lot of times even I do not agree with what PETA does. XD ... PETA has their own way on things ...

That's a good point, too.

I was JUST thinking the same!

First time I heard about PETA, I thought "Oh how nice! An organization fighting for the animals and trying to show how horrible slaughterhouses can be."
Second time I heard about PETA, I thought "Oh wait, they want to eliminate ALL slaughterhouses? Maybe that's a bit overboard."
Now.... at this point, I really think they are spewing out nonsense for attention. I wonder about the numbers of members in their organization...I wouldn't be surprised if it's declining!

Gee. It would be nice to eliminate employees for not killing the animals at the slaughterhouses. Respectfully, the animals do have the rights to live and happy as humans. No more violent eaters.

Yeah, Jim Jones of Jonestown Guyana fame started out as a wonderful organization that provided social services to the underpriviledged. Then it went over the line, and people drank cyanide laced kool-aid at his command. Gotta be careful when things turn to fanaticism.
