Obama will change

I'm sorry but did they put the gun to your head to say it? Did they threaten to throw you in jail or to hang up for being a heathen? You are free to NOT say it.

But at the schools, they will send me to the lunch detention or recess cancellation if I refuse to sing the flag pledge with the "God" on it, they does forced me to, but till I finally felt more freedom when I was at the high school while they are more understanding about the religions and tried their best to stay out of it, like they don't celebrate any kind of celebrates, they rather to let the teachers or students to celebrate on their own.

You're talking about law of nature. We are not immune to it. What I speak of is something that animal kingdoms do not have - Consciousness. That is subjected to debate.

May I ask what is the difference between an nature law or "man made" laws? Or should I say the man-made laws works just like the nature laws? What about those "no violence", "no murder", "have to have the foods available for suviving", but let me tell you a bottom line of this:

I would consider the ten commenident(sp?) from the bible as nature law also.

About Faith and God... I'm just saying many people take it too literally. I'm just explaining what "God" means in my own words. I don't believe in heaven, hell, supreme being creating the world or such thing but I do believe in unexplained, mythical-like power that we have inside our mind and that is called faith. love. wisdom. JMO.

Of course I do respect your opinion. I just don't understand why would they mix the word of God with the word of "faith"? Is that what God is all about?

Neither does USA government and America's founding fathers and pilgrims.

Well we are still just like the USA governments or the America's founding father or those pilgrims as today, I am sure all of them does have the disagreements with each other as today. There is just no difference in the publication today.

hey - that's fine! You are free to say that. Nobody's telling you to say "in one nation, under God."

 Right now, as proudly adult and an US citizen I do felt a much more freedom than when I was young, but there are still things that I have to question out. :)

I have to ask before I respond - was it public school? or private? and how would they know if you refused to sing the flag pledge? Sounds like the school you went was run by Soup Nazi. They should not be doing that to you. They did not to me.

Man Law and Nature Law. Nature Law is the law that ALL living thing in Earth follows. You know - only the strong survives. There's food chain. Nobody helps the weak/injured - they get eaten. Do we do that in human civilization? No.

Those does not apply to modern civilization. The weak/injured were spared and helped. We do not fight/compete with each other over food. There is no predator-prey thing. I'm sorry but we do not live in jungles/forest anymore like Mayan/Aztec/Incas/etc. I understand your view is of like naturalist - like Henry Thoreau but it just doesn't work in modern civilization.

Barack Obama’s Top 5 technology promises

1. Net neutrality

The goal of net neutrality is to set rules and put laws in place to force service providers and telcos to allow all applications, services and devices access networks to perform on equal terms. Contrary to McCain who wanted to let the private sector sort this out, Obama promised to enforce net neutrality through federal legislation. Obama believes the federal government needs to stand behind it in order to prevent manipulation by carriers and service providers that in the end stalls innovation. Obama mentions this belief his tech paper that "a key reason the Internet has been such a success is because it is the most open network in history."

2. Broadband penetration

When it comes to broadband penetration and speed, the U.S. country lags behind most parts of the world. In terms of speed, a CWA study puts the U.S. at position 15 on a worldwide scale, far behind the leaders Japan, South Korea and Finland. Various organizations attempted to get Congress to come up with an improved telecommunications policy with virtually no success at all. Obama promised to expand the Universal Service Fund in order to re-build the nation's broadband infrastructure. If that promise will be kept we are looking at one of the most significant infrastructure improvements of our time, but it is necessary to provide people in the U.S. with broadband access they need in the future.

Read on the next page: Wireless, outsourcing, privacy

3. Wireless spectrum

The existing wireless spectrum usage rules did not promote competition and failed to deliver benefits to end-users. A lack of competition and fair usage rules in the wireless space are key obstacles that hold back new innovation. Obama promised a thorough review of the existing wireless spectrum uses. Additionally, he wants government agencies that control the wireless spectrum to define a "smarter, more efficient and more imaginative use."

4. H-1B visas and offshoring

Job offshoring is a reality of our time, a trend that is driven by cost and globalization factors. Obama promised he would eliminate tax breaks to the companies which ship domestic jobs overseas, a move that could prove to be difficult, especially if offshoring is required in required global expansions of companies. However, Silicon Valley is likely to benefit from Obama's proposal to increase the number of H-1B non-immigrant visas needed to recruit foreign guest workers. The increase in granted H-1B visas could appear in sharp contrast with measures to reduce outsourcing, but it will actually allow tech companies to recruit highly specialized engineers and scientists to increase their competitiveness. Of course, that strategy needs to go in hand with a greater focus on education and enable U.S. companies to find the talent they need on these shores.

5. Privacy

Unfortunately, our privacy legislation appears to be always one step behind when it comes to high tech and online scenarios. Obama proposed increased security for electronic health records to and new measures to restrict the use of personal information stored in electronic databases. Cyber-criminals are also on Obama's agenda: The President-elect promised he would improve the Federal Trade Commission enforcement budget to battle spam and fund the fight against phishing and malware.

SOUNDS GOOD!

Well it's true, it's one of my experience when I was at elementary school, everytime they pull the flag up, they force all of the kids in the elementary school to go and sing together while pulling the flag up, if one of them doesn't sing then the teacher will go to that student who doesn't sing and warning him/her till fed up and put them in the detention or recess cancellation.

They does act more like an dictorship than just an Nazi which stick on my mind since about when the dollars say "In God We Trust". Sounds pathetic, isn't it?

Man Law and Nature Law. Nature Law is the law that ALL living thing in Earth follows. You know - only the strong survives. There's food chain. Nobody helps the weak/injured - they get eaten. Do we do that in human civilization? No.

Neither all of the animals? Are all of them eat each other? No. I never said that our law are all same, but each of us does have our own laws.

And what is exactly difference between the age times or the modern times? We still don't allow any violence or stealing or abusing our selves, right? That's one of our nature law. Only little stuff that added on our laws, but there are specific nature laws on us the humans, and just like the animals, as we all continue to experience our lives and create our own laws.

That's how I see the reality is.

well what can I say? That was your traumatic experience which led you to this view. I hate to say but I believe majority of students in public schools were not forced to do that. I suppose there's no use for me to change your mind but we'll just leave at it.

There's no use for me to continue debating because it's still same thing in the end. We'll just agree to disagree :cool2:

One of greatest things about America is that you are FREE to express your American pride in any way, shape, or form you want - something that you don't see in many countries. While we both may have different views of America, we still share same pride, same country, same flag. Just that we express it differently. :cool2:

First of all - you did not know Obama's stance on gun laws. Secondly - you claim that Obama Administration & Congress "won't" touch it. Thirdly - it shows you are very ill-informed about the history of gun laws in America.

Please educate yourself on this issue before you say something. It'll help a great deal for you.

How? Please show me like that, I can't believe this crap.

There's one thing to say, no one could take your rights away but gun control would probably more tighten or not during Obama presidency, again, I know about his vote history but his presidency is unpredict, we don't know about going on, he stated that he will focus on economy as first priority.

For me, I prefer anyone to care of economy over care about gun rights, gun rights is least concern.

oh you're changing subject now? The issue was about gun rights and you said this and that about it. I'm just correcting you on what you said about gun rights.

No, I was made up my mind to re-check your post.

Do you expect Obama will pass alot of gun control law? For me, it's unpredict for him to do it because he's going to focus on economy.

In my opinion, no one need take gun rights away from citizens.

Well, Puyo, when non-religious people became so tired of religious people... What's next?

In some states, they did ban prays and Bible books in some general schools.
In some states, some religious people barely say a word that is related to God/Jesus/Bible/Allah/Etc because a word will offend another nonreligious/religious people.
In some states, they thought it is okay to bash religious people so they can't complain about it.
Last year, they complained about Christmas and wanted to do something about this. I did unknownly say a Merry Christmas to people, all of sudden, they yelled at me. :ugh3:
Now, I saw some people, like you said it, want to remove all words are that is related to religious in general schools (except homeschool), laws, gov'ment politics, and etc etc.
I wonder, what is next!? :(

Are really they taking the religion of freedom? Yep, I think so. :/

And what a pity that is considering Americans made history by electing the first African-American President ever. If Conservatives can't be proud of that accomplishment, what *can* they be proud of?

By the way, a majority of Conservatives supported Obama, so it looks like you're in the minority when it comes to feeling sad for your country. Who you should *really* feel sad for is your party. After all, it's the GOP who has turned their backs against their constituents.
I'm not a member of the GOP.

I'm more concerned about the thousands of military members who didn't get their absentee ballots counted.

I'm more concerned about the liberals taking over my country while the number of real conservatives dwindle. It's a real shame.

Conservatives won't even consider the achievement unless we voted in Alan Keys. Then, they would be jumping up and down hopping and hollering. However, because our first African American President is a liberal, conservatives are "sad for this country".

What sad in my mind is they can't look at the achievement and be proud of what this country has done. Instead, conservatives are sad.

Whatever.
I'm sad because an extreme liberal was elected President. I don't care what color he is--I care about his political record and goals.

No, that's not gonna happen. We already have religious freedom and Obama has said "God Bless America!" many times.

The conservative Supreme Court banned prayer and affirmed that ban even under the Bush administration.

I already did too... a few months ago at Cabala's in Connecticut. It's worth a 2 hours drive :mad2:
I love Cabela's! Our favorite one is in Michigan. :)

Off topic: A few weeks ago we bought many boxes of Remington field load 20g shot, 25 per box, for 94 cents per box (no sales tax) at a base exchange. I'm going to keep watching for some good deals.

I saw on the news last night that gun and ammo sales have increased 15% in the last couple weeks.

I saw that too! I was shocked to see that with the current economic crisis that people still have money to buy on luxury items!

Well you asked for it :) I might have an traumatic depression from that, but it's not that serious, the word, "In God We Trust" on the coins just remind me of what the teacher made us to do. Nothing seriously about that ;)

There's no use for me to continue debating because it's still same thing in the end. We'll just agree to disagree :cool2:

True, we disagree with each other and probably won't solve very well.

Yup I've experience that since I graduated :D

Jessie, the governments are not trying to take the religions away, but tried their best to be neutral from the religion. The Christianity religion is not only one that was target, actually all of the religions that the governments are mention to.

Like if you have your bible at your home right? They will never take that away from you, but they can take it away if you harrass others in the public with the bible. I remember when I was on the city bus, one old man tried to talk to me with the bible, the bus driver told that man that he had to leave the bus, it's not because of the bible, it's because that man was harrassing me with the bible. Get it?

The governments just want to make sure that everyone was resepcted.

I'm more concerned about the thousands of military members who didn't get their absentee ballots counted.

I'm more concerned about the liberals taking over my country while the number of real conservatives dwindle. It's a real shame.

First, the military count won't make a difference at all. Obama has plenty of cushion in electoral votes. Thousand of absentee votes won't make a difference at all anymore. (also, I read that 44% of military voted for Obama - thus making it even more difficult) Nate Silver, a statistical analyst, noted:

"In other words, if you had subtracted 9.3 points from Barack Obama's margin in every state, he would still have tied the Electoral College -- even while losing the popular vote by almost 3 points."

FiveThirtyEight.com: Electoral Projections Done Right: Obama's Electoral Cushion

(that site is ranked the MOST accurate in predicting the votes)

Second, liberals are taking your country? Which country do you live? It's OUR country and WE voted for Obama! America voted for change!

I saw that too! I was shocked to see that with the current economic crisis that people still have money to buy on luxury items!
It depends on what each person considers a "luxury." :)

But I know what you mean; guns are not cheap items.

First, the military count won't make a difference at all.
Excuse me? The people who are suffering and sacrificing should count the most. It's unconscionable that they shouldn't be allowed to vote. It doesn't matter what percentage vote for which candidate--the important thing is that they have the right to participate.

Suppose someone said that it didn't matter if black voters weren't allowed to vote. There would be a huge uproar (and right there should be). But no one cares about the voting rights of military people. It's disgusting.

America is still my country, even if the liberals control it. I'm not going anywhere.

I felt same when our country was control by conservatives for last 8 years. Deal with us as I deal with you and others.
